The LB-75 75mm Leveling Base with Butterfly Handle with 75mm from Leofoto acts like a 75mm half ball, providing +/-15° of leveling range capability. It locks easily and securely in position with the twist of the large butterfly handle at the base of the ball. This leveling base installs on any tripod leg set has a standard 3/8" threaded mounting stud.
The anti-twist safety screw design uses three set screws on the spider to secure the ball head in place on top of the leveling base.

Oftentimes while doing polar alignment on uneven ground one sets up and levels the tripod, only to have to move the tripod for the final alignment, taking the equatorial mount out of level. With this device, it's a snap to relevel - saves a lot of time when setting up for astrophotography.
As the headline says. It completely froze up when I really needed it to work. It was always difficult to loosen once it wasn't used for awhile, but now it's frozen. I didn't over-tighten. Avoid.
