This C-Stand with Quick Release Sliding Leg from Impact features a 40" double riser for sturdy support of light fixtures and accessories weighing up to 22 lb. This chrome sliding leg model has an adjustable top leg designed for leveling the stand on uneven surfaces including stairs or curbs. Impact's unique quick release leg lock simplifies opening and closing the legs for rapid deployment and breakdown. With a simple twist, the legs open to the perfect position, with no extra positioning required, then tightening the knob to lock everything in place. The C-stand's unique staggered leg height allows it to be placed close to other stands when floor space is at a premium or if several stands need to fit in a small area. Constructed with oversized steel tubing for maximum rigidity and strength, oversized locking handles, and stainless steel brake inserts, this C-stand will hold securely until it's time to wrap.

Impact LS-CL40M Reviews
Heavy Stand That Does the Job
I currently own 2 of these stands and have really been enjoying them. The locking base makes it really easy to open and close the stands in seconds with minimal effort. Compared to other C-stands I've used these are quite heavy to carry and move around, but it does make it so I don't need to bag them all the time. The black paint does chip off but that's to be expected when using them day-to-day.
Nicer design house-brand C-stand than the other store. 😉
I own C stands of this size from both B&H and the 'rama store, and while I like both stores, I prefer these shorty C-stands from B&H. The turtle base's locking mechanisms is noticeably superior and stronger, the chrome plated finisher on the riser and base is just so smooth and clean, and the locking knobs feel tighter (while at once feeling less difficult to open than the alternative). I prefer these 5.9' C-stands + a boom arm to add height over the taller impact C-stands, especially for on location work. If you need to get your lights/modifier really high or if you're using C-stands to mount your backdrop crossbar for subjects that are standing, I would go for the taller C-stands than these 5.9' stands, but for the majority of my uses, I'm a huge fan of these 5.9' stands and own multiple.
