The 40" Grip Arm features a fixed 2.5" grip head with large, ergonomic T-handles for maximum torque. When combined with the beefy 2.5" grip head, it creates a sturdy setup for supporting light fixtures and light-modifying gobos like flags, silks, and scrims.

Quick Release Legs

Unique quick release system requires only a slight twist to let the feet fall perfectly into place. Once open, there's no additional adjustment required when using on level ground.

Sliding Leg Design

The sliding leg design allows one leg to be set at any height to position the stand on a curb or stairs and have the same solid support as on flat ground.

Adjustable Height

This sturdy double riser C-stand is designed to support a light fixture or accessory weighing up to 22 lb anywhere from 4.3 to 10.3'.

40" Grip Arm

The included 40" stainless steel grip arm is engineered to securely hold most lights, light modifiers, and grip gear weighing up to 10 lb.

2.5" Grip Head

Both 2.5" grip heads provide a 5/8" hole for grip arms and other baby pin attachments, a 3/8" hole for gobos and flags, as well as 1/2" and 1/8" holes. The aluminum alloy construction gives the grip heads durable strength to withstand the most demanding production environments. Its beefy construction can secure light fixtures or other accessories like butterfly and overhead frames.

Heli-Coil Inserts

The stainless steel heli-coil brake inserts assure incredible gripping power and withstand a significant amount of torque without damaging the C-stand's brake casting.

Oversized Tubes

The stand features oversized tubes that will support lateral stress loads without flexing. Loads will be secure and won't wobble even at maximum load capacity set at maximum stand height.

Large T-Handles

Large, ergonomic T-handles are easy to grip and offer maximum torque for securing payloads.

The Impact stands are absolutely phenomenal. They are sturdy all the way up to 11'. Must buy!

Good Stand

Solid construction. The arm included at the price is nice. I was shipped an obviously used one, all scratched up, but I mean it's a c-stand so if it's not scratched now it will be soon.

Wonderful C-Stands

These Impact c-stands are so awesome. Small enough to travel with but they extend out far enough for me to use for a boom pole or a heavier key light with a bigger softbox on the front. I ordered 2 of these.

Great sturdy stand

I use it at weddings and it's great not to have to bring a sand bag along... The stand is plenty heavy to hold itself down and I have no problems tightening or loosening it.

These stands are sturdy and reliable. Throw some sand bags on em and you're good to go!

They're Great

Not for heavy duty but for light and medium applications you can't beat them. I hang seamless, mount strobes, flags, they're great. I prefer the adjustable leg to the turtle base, I think it's a little sturdier but they're both a good deal for the price. I have the chrome ones.

Solid!

This is my first C-stand, so admittedly I don't have a basis for comparison. However, this stand is impressively solid, which makes it perfect for the role it needs to fill in my studio: fixed apparatus for routine overhead photography. I've been using a tripod for that purpose for over a decade, which, even though it was a good tripod, was flimsy with its center column extended horizontally, awkward to work with and a pain to adjust. My only wish is that the size I needed had come in black, but that's a trifle.

Heavy but solid!

I have 8 LED lights from GVM that have light duty aluminum and plastic stands. One of the stands broke after very light use, so I went looking for an alternative. I purchased one of the Impact stands to see if it would work better. As we say in New England the stand is wicked heavy, but is rock solid! The base comes off which makes it easier to transport. I was very happy with my choice, so I purchased two more!

question

I want to purchase these C-Stands along with casters. Which size of Impact casters fit these stands?
Asked by: Robert R.
The turtle base is not designed to accept casters and I don't think modifying it would be the best plan for reasons of stability. I have found the Kupo Runway Base Stand to be the best alternative for a wheeled base. I think it's at least as good as the Manfrotto, but it costs less than $100. It accepts the same 1 1/8 junior riser spigot as the Turtle stand base. I've not used the Mathews equivalent - I hear from colleagues that it's good, but I'd rather have three Kupos for the money and enough change left over for a slap up dinner at Mrs Muggins' Pie Shop.

The stand is plenty strong enough. You may have to sandbag it to keep it from tipping over, however.
