If you need a communication system for a production team, then the Solidcom M1 Full-Duplex Wireless Intercom Solution from Hollyland is an ideal solution. This wireless intercom setup supports up to 8 team members, providing each of them with a wireless beltpack and professional wired single-ear LEMO headset. Ideal for small- to medium-sized events (approximately 100 to 1000 guests), such as a concert, church function, or exhibition, the Solidcom M1 system works to deliver clear and conversational communication without interference, and offers easy app or webpage-based setup.
1.9 GHz Full-Duplex Transmission for Enhanced Audio Quality
  • To avoid interference with other devices, the M1 intercom system communicates over the 1.9 GHz spectrum and offers full-duplex conversations. With full duplex, you can talk to other team members as you would over the phone, with each party being able to talk and listen simultaneously.
  • Equipped with auto-frequency-hopping technology, the Solidcom M1 automatically selects a clear frequency to provide interference-free communication.
  • Adopting Hollyland’s proprietary noise-cancellation algorithms, high 16 kHz sampling rate, professional dynamic microphones, and wide 200 Hz to 7 kHz frequency response, Solidcom M1 delivers broadcast-quality communication, no matter how loud or distracting the background noise is.
Stable, Long-Range Communication
  • With a built-in panel antenna on the M1 base station, the system provides an out-of-the-box communications solution in unobstructed venues such as houses of worship and concert halls.
  • The built-in panel antenna alone supports a range of up to 1300' in front of the base station and 160' behind. Attaching the two supplied external antennas provides reliable 360° transmission in a radius of approximately 985'—ideal for large rooms and venues, including stadiums and exhibition centers. Combining these 2 antenna options, Solidcom M1 significantly improves on-site work efficiency and flexibility, and greatly extends transmission range.
Sidetone Function
  • The Solidcom M1 set includes professional LEMO headsets with intuitive microphone on/off control by raising or lowering the microphone boom. The standard 3.5mm jack on the beltpack supports third-party headsets, offering more possibilities for personalized use.
  • When you're alone at an event and need to ensure that your headset and beltpack are transmitting correctly, you can use the sidetone function to hear yourself through the headset. This helps to ensure that your mic is picking up your voice and your voice volume is properly set.
Easy Single-Tap Grouping
  • With the Solidcom M1 system you can set up groups for team members such as lighting crew, camera crew, or PAs. You can do this by simply selecting the number of each beltpack in the group. Up to three groups can be created and managed through the base station, Solidcom app, or a private webpage.
Cascade Connection
  • If you need to expand your coverage and team support, you can utilize the cascade connection feature to join this system to a second Solidcom M1 intercom system.
  • Link both base stations together with a 328' standard network cable or XLR cable, and use up to 24 headsets at the same time.
  • There are four different interface connectors: 2W XLR, 4W RJ45, PoE/LAN (Power over Ethernet) power supply, and cascading interfaces.
Out-of-Box Convenience
  • The beltpacks are paired at the factory and are ready to be used right out of the box. In the event of cross-area collaboration where changing or adding beltpacks is needed, users only need to connect the beltpacks to the base station via USB cables to pair and group the beltpacks.
  • With double-injection molding and a scratch-resistant matte finish, the beltpack provides a comfortable grip and is durable. Weighing only 7 oz, you can take it with you wherever you go. The HD LCD screen displays all the information you need at a glance. The three function buttons on the front of the beltpack are ergonomically designed with different shapes to prevent accidental pressing, even if you are working in a dark and high-pressure environment.
Removable Battery for Long Battery Life
  • Each beltpack is equipped with two removable Li-ion batteries, which can be charged independently in only 2.5 hours. Each battery provides up to six hours of runtime, ensuring uninterrupted operation all day long.
  • The base station has a dual NP-F battery plate, plus a PoE power supply port, guaranteeing a continuous, uninterrupted power supply.

Linked them to our wired PortaCom system using 2 wire interface. Grouped them and they worked. Sound it clear within wireless and back and forth to wired.

I'm really impressed with this kit! Works right out of the box with no setup required. We've used this on a handful of live events, including at a couple of indoor venues with around 1,000 people in attendance. To be fair, we weren't pushing the range limit, but we had no problem at all working within about 50m of the base station at these events. No sign of any dropouts, could always hear everyone perfectly, even during noisy performances. Build quality is great, battery life will go all day, and they include spares in the pack too. Honestly couldn't ask for anything else, in our experience it's a great system and well worth the money.

Inexpensive vs. larger brands

Hollyland has become an important part of our production company. We've owned larger and more expensive versions of wireless video systems and comm systems, but things breakdown over time and need to be replaced. Hollyland is less expensive, but still provides a great product for the money. The first version of Hollyland comms we purchased was the T1000. Non-starter for us since there was no side tone. With the addition of that function, we upgraded. We wish the side tone was a little louder, but overall a solid product. The headsets feel great and have a great build quality. The antenna is beefy and the custom cut foam in the case is awesome. Very pleased with our purchase and very pleased with Hollyland!

Better than Eartec but no service

I bought this to replace an eartec system. I also have an HME system on 2.4Ghz that no longer works for me because of our building's Wifi. The build quality is close to the HME and way better than the Eartec. The range is adequate for our basketball arena and indoor Football stadium. I ended up using the internal antennas and bouncing the signal off the roof of the building. The real problem is that one of the students broke the battery door clip. This is a replaceable part. I contacted Service and they wanted me to send the whole unit in for exchange. I asked for the part and they said they could give me a used one. I was okay with that. It has been a month. They have not sent it and they had stopped replying to my messages. Eartec was responsive and they would ship me replacements quickly.

Upgrade from the T1000 Unit

We purchased the M1 Full-Duplex system literally for sidetone. Since the T1000 does not have it, it was a major let down. The connection on both products are great. The noise reduction is good. The volume of the sidetone needs to be a little louder than the loudest setting of 3. Easy and fast to setup. Major bonus points awarded for the custom molded case it came with! Great job Hollyland! Thank you for another great product we were able to add to our Hollyland inventory!

Great range and battery life

I've had my Solidcom M1 system for about 6 weeks now. So far it is working very well. Sound quality is good for a budget system. Speakers are easy to understand and the volume can get very loud when necessary. It isn't CD quality, but it's far better than the other entry- or mid-level wireless intercom systems I've used. Much, much better than any less expensive system out there. What really impressed me, though, is the range. I've used this for a half dozen events and as far as I can tell we've never had any dropouts. When I was doing range testing, I found that outdoors I could go over 600 feet from the base before experiencing any dropouts with the omnidirectional antennas, or over 1000 feet with the internal directional antenna. The signal became unusable at 1000 feet with the omnis, or 1200 feet in front of the directional antenna. The entire system is very well made. The belt packs and most of the base station are made of a very rugged metal. They should hold up to a lot of abuse. My only issue with these is the way that the microphones are muted and unmuted. Unlike professional systems which use Push-to-Talk buttons, this uses a push on/push off button, which is more awkward. You can raise or lower the microphone boom to mute/unmute as well, but that's also awkward as well. A simple PTT would have been much preferred, not just by me but by my camera operators. We also all felt that the horizontal orientation of the belt packs is awkward. Fortunately, this is easy to fix with just a hex screwdriver. Having built-in 2- and 4-wire interfaces is a really nice option. That makes this system really easy to integrate into other intercom systems. I connected mine into my Dante-based system very easily with a single inexpensive cable. Users of Clear-com or similar systems will find it just as simple to add this to their existing intercom. Bottom line is that this is the best performer at this price point. If you want good quality audio, this is the cheapest intercom system that I could possibly recommend to anyone. Everything cheaper just sounds terrible in comparison. But at the same time, more expensive systems do sound better.

Does not work with a Audio Mixer

After being told that you can plug your audio mixer video 4-wire to Dual XLR. Turns out you cannot, so the only perks of this devices are 2 way intercom, sleek look, groupings and that is all. alternatives is to have one of your 8 or 4 packs use the 3.5 trs line and wiggle the wire till you hear a sound coming from the mixer. Issue with this is the packs have noise suppression that caused the audio to go in and out.

I would have given 5 starts but am having issues upgrading the firmware. After two weeks, support did call me, but didn't have any solutions. I'm still waiting.... I would buy these again. But if I did, I would not try to upgrade the firmware for the extras features it gives.

Can each beltpack listen to and/or talk to multiple channels? I.e. if we have "A" as all-production and "B" as cameras, can a user talk to both A & B at the same time?

Although the beltpacks within the Hollyland Solidcom M1 Full-Duplex Wireless Intercom Solution are able to communicate with and switch between different groups and channels, it does not appear that a beltpack has the ability to address multiple groups simultaneously.

It says 8 channel communication, but the belt pack has only A B C buttons. Can you explain how that works? Can I communicate one on one to the 8 belt packs but I can make only 3 group channels?
Asked by: Mauricio
Beltpacks (and auxiliary 4-wire or 2-wire intercom sources) are assigned to up to 3 groups from either the base stations menu or using the free App or web browser interface on a mobile device. The A B C buttons on the Beltpacks only indicate (when illuminated) which group(s) each Beltpack is currently a part of. The Beltpacks buttons however cannot change channels like a traditional walkie talkie.

Hi! If I link one more base station as slave is it possible both stations will work as two transceivers? And it will become 16 beltpack working simultaneous? As for example the master station will put in studio floor and the slave will put outside like hallway and out door, just like zone A as master and Zone B as slave. All functions and settings of two stations will link as one? or it will work both at the same time. Thank you.
