Celestron's Omni 32mm Eyepiece is designed for comfortable near and deep-space astronomical observation. It is engineered with a 4-element lens configuration, blackened edges, and anti-reflective fully multi-coated optical surfaces to ensure bright and clear high-contrast images with true color transmission across the entire 50° field of view. With a 1.25" diameter barrel, it will fit the most common size drawtubes, visual backs, and accessories; and a rubberized collar provides a non-slip grip. The housing is made of a lightweight and durable aluminum alloy with a reflection-limiting matte anodized finish, and a fold-down eyecup make this eyepiece ideal for comfortable viewing for extended periods with or without eyewear.

    Omni 32mm Eyepiece (1.25") is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Economical - great value and performance This eyepiece make full use of the inside of the 1.25 inch barrel and provides a very pleasing 52 degree field with its Plossl design. (Its 40mm brother, which is limited by the barrel, only provides a 43 degree field.) It is a cheaper version, and lighter in weight than some models, but appears well made, and affords very pleasing contrasty views. I purchased it, knowing I could get a reasonable width field 52 deg, and as large a physical field as would be available in a 1.25 inch unit. Yes, I have a 40mm as well if I want to get a brighter image, or I could go to 50,60,and 70mm in the 2 inch units...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product for the price This true Plossl eyepiece of a premium Omni construction was recommended in the review websites. At a 32 mm focal length, there is no equivalent in the more premium line X-Cel LX. But the Omni is claimed to be as good (in terms of image quality, eye relief distance and apparent field of view). It is of a good, please build quality, too. The Omni 40 mm focal lens eyepiece has a greater focal length, but a narrower AFOV. Thus, the same reviewer claimed, the size of the image would be the same. The only advantage of getting a 40 mm focal length eyepiece is to get more light, which is beneficial with the large-aperture (above 4) telescopes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Inexpensive standard Plossl eyepiece. I purchased two of these 32mm Omni Plossl eyepieces for use in my Televue Binoviewer. I have a much older third 32mm Celestron Plossl purchased a decade ago. The new 32mm omnis are attractive and the optical quality matches the older one I have. The image is crisp and clear across the field and both eyepieces match very well in the binoviewer. However, one of the two had a very poor blackening job on the inside of the 1.25 barrel with shiny metal showing through on several areas. Approximately 50% of the surface had a poor coating. One was perfect, the other was not. Since the optics were fine, I unscrewed the barrel and re-blackened the inside surface with three very light coats of ultra-flat black spray. This indicates that inspection and quality control needs to be improved. This is an obvious imperfection and easy to correct. I have many Celestron eyepieces and this is the first one with a such a glaring flaw. Otherwise the eyepieces would deserve 5 stars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Above average EP I use this eyepiece in my 10 Dobsonian telescope. The build quality is very good and has a nice solid feel to it. It provides a clear, wide-view image and has generous eye relief. I have noticed coma around the outer 20% view field but in fast scopes like my f/5 that's not unusual unless you spend $200-300 on a TeleVue or comparable expensive eyepiece. I think this eyepiece delivers quality that is consistent with its price tag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High value for price. Purchased this eyepiece, along with a non-lateral-corrected prism diagonal, in order to increase field of view and squeeze a bit more light from a Meade 102mm/f5.9 refractor. Wide exit pupil when compared to the supplied 26mm modified Kellner. Impressive views of Pleiades, Orion nebula, and while panning Milky Way. Excellent build quality and bright, clear, sharp optics. One of the better choices for low power observation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb eyepiece for the price Excellent 32 mm plssl! Checked it against other 32mm plssls: Meade Series 4000 & GSO SuperPlssl. Definitely a winner! Sharpest optics, the most luminous of the three brands checked. Less distortion at borders even with my 200 f/5 newtonian reflector. What really impress me in this eyepiece is the luminosity: Im able to see faint stars that don't appear in th e GSO ep. So yes, a real keeper!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good eye piece for wider views. I am strictly an amateur with telescopes. I want an affordable quality eyepiece to give me a wide view in my Celestron C5. I read some astronomy forums and did some math to derive at this lens. It works really well giving clear and bright viewing. Adding this to 2x barlow continues to give very good views. I would buy it again if I lost or broke it.
