The diopter works perfectly, the rangefinder view now snaps into perfect focus, and with no blockage of the image. All at a Leica price, but worth it to ensure the camera is used to its full potential.

Love it.

My right side reading grass is +2.25. Before I have bought a Leica m diopter +2.00. Way too strong. This time I checked one +1.5 That is perfect for me. my sharpness image's Back!

Leica quality of course but now I am back hitting those great rangefinder shots. Leica users , sometimes you need to adjust the strength . Don't wait like it did!

I see everything clear now!

Trial & Error -- Best route to determining required diopter

The first thing to note it that the required diopter correction for your spectacles does not seem to be the same as the required diopter correction for this viewfinder correction lens. The Leica website states that the viewfinder of the M camera has a built-in correction of -0.5 diopters. Whether, with or without compensating for this built-in correction, it does not seem to be possible, through calculation alone, to arrive at the appropriate diopter correction required for the viewfinder correction lens. Trial and error seems to be the most reliable route. I use +2.25 diopter correction in my spectacles. And the Leica +1.5 diopter viewfinder correction lens seems perfect for me. I tried the +2 diopter viewfinder correction lens and it was too strong and gave me a headache. I tried the +1 diopter viewfinder correction lens and it was insufficient for me to see the viewfinder image clearly. I tried this on a Leica M6 with 0.85 x viewfinder magnification.

Correction Lens

If you use reading glasses, the eyepiece correction lens is more convenient. When installed, it allows faster rangefinder focusing than bifocals or readers, because it is always in place, where you left it. Albeit, a bit spendy, Leica quality optics deliver clarity. Be sure your ophthalmologist confirms your unique correction to assure performance.
