Feathered edge is neither soft nor hard, providing a natural-appearing taper between the density and clear areas of the filter.

This is a reasonably priced filer that works well without hurting image quality.

I would definitely buy this filter again.

Fantastic filter does it job with diffusing bright light on sunny day while keeping my sky a beautiful blue color. Makes my shots more vibrant.

question

What is a graduated neutral density filter?Does the filter rotate? By this I mean, can I rotate the filter to high light certain areas?
Asked by: Anonymous
A graduated neutral-density filter is an optical filter that has a variable light transmission. Typically half of the filter is of neutral density which transitions, either abruptly or gradually, into the other half which is clear. It is used to bring an overly-bright part of a scene into the dynamic range of film or sensor. For example, it can be used to darken a bright sky so that both the sky and subject can be properly exposed. There are typically two types of graduated ND filters, which are hard edge and soft edge. This particular Tiffen Graduated 0.6 ND filter is a feathered graduated ND filter, which means that there is a natural-appearing taper between the density and clear areas of the filter. This filter does not rotate.

question

This filter is very loose (cannot fully tighten, keep rotating) when stacked on top of a B+W XS-Pro 67mm filter... Faulty unit? XS-Pro 67mm diameter slightly wider than TIffen 67mm?
Asked by: Yang
May just be a thread problem. My filter works just fine on lens, or connected to others.
