Tiffen 67CGND6 overview

  • 1Description

The Tiffen 67mm Graduated 0.6 ND Filter is a graduated neutral density filter that helps to specifically darken skies and other bright areas of the image. The filter is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a feathered line between the density and clear areas. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and the 0.6 density provides a 2 stop reduction in light from entering the lens.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting to precision metal rings.

0.6 ND graduated filter for darkening skies and other bright areas of the image.
Feathered edge is neither soft nor hard, providing a natural-appearing taper between the density and clear areas of the filter.
Neutral density filters do not affect the overall coloration of the image.

Tiffen 67CGND6 reviews

67mm Graduated 0.6 ND Filter is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 41.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does what it is supposed to do Not as flexible as a holder-mounted grad ND, but I knew that when I bought it. I wanted the simplicity of a screw-on filter and was willing to sacrifice the greater versatility of a mounted filter. This filter is limited in that you can't really adjust how much of the lens is covered by the dark part of the filter but you don't have to fuss with it the way you have to fuss with a filter holder. Just screw it on. I don't use it frequently and it's fine for infrequent use. A lot better than not having a grad ND. If I thought I'd be using it all the time I'd probably add a holder system to my camera bag, but I dont' really need to at this time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must-have for landscape shooting Tiffen Graduated ND 0.6 is something every landscape photographer should have in his/her bag. When you need to balance out the contrast between sky and ground so that your sky is not blown out or your foreground is not dark, then try a Graduated ND filter. The Tiffen filter is good quality and worth the money. If you keep a haze/UV filter, you may need to remove it first, depending on your lens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect ND Filter I use this mainly for my Landscapes and Seascapes. I get very good balanced exposer every time. Goes on easy and very easy to see were the Grad starts and transitions..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product. Performs as described. It does what it's supposed to. My only (minor) complaint is that it's too easy to rotate it unintentionally. It should be damped or tightened somehow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Beautifully It's something I don't use often but when I do need it it's of critical importance. I'll prob come back and buy the .9 and 1.2 ND.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what you need on a sunny day It's a great way to get pro images with a camera that's smaller than a pro lens and costs less than a pro video cam battery. I've used the 4x4 version with my pro cine & video cameras so I had to get one for my handi-cam camcorder. My only caution is to keep it squeaky clean! With a wide-angle lens, every spec of dust on the filter is a HUGE sploch in the image.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big Difference I take a lot of landscape pictures. Lately I have been taking ocean view pictures in the evening and had big contrast issues - bright sky and dark foreground. I had the camera checked out and everything was to spec. HDR mode and Software couldn't correct the problem so I tried the Tiffen Graduated ND filter which solved the problem perfectly. Pictures are much better balanced.
