I used to use a knock-off to the Cokin filter system on my Nikon D600. Although I had tons of graduated filters (including colored grad filters), it was just a hassle to install the filter holder, then insert a filter, etc. This screw-on graduated ND filter goes on and comes off in 30 seconds, so it's a big improvement in how easy it is to use. Got some great shots of the Hawaiian sunsets with it.Only downside is if you choose to stack a circular polarizer and this graduated ND filter, then my lens (a Tamron SP 24-70mm f2.8) sees vignetting in the four corners of the frame. But, this isn't really the due to this filter, just the field of view on my lens, so I can't fault this filter for this problem.

It's a filter

question

What is the thickness of the filter?(I'm concerned to get vignetting in wide angle lenses)Does it rotate too?Thank you very much!
Asked by: PABLO
The thickness of the glass has nothing to do with vignetting. Vignetting can be caused by the thickness of a filter ring or if you stack filters and shoot at wide angle. The factors that would determine of you will get vignetting also include what focal length you are shooting at and if your camera sensor is full frame or cropped sensor. It is possible that this filter ring could vignette if you are shooting super wide angle on a full frame sensor, otherwise it should not be an issue.
