Well-suited to photographing sunsets and sunrises with flat or well-defined horizon lines, the 100 x 150mm Daryl Benson Reverse Graduated Neutral Density 0.6 Filter from Singh-Ray is a specialized graduated filter for selectively balancing high contrast situations. Compared to a traditional grad ND, this filter's 0.6, 2-stop density is in the center of the filter plane and transitions toward one edge while leaving half of the filter area clear to receive full exposures. This configuration is ideal for sunrises and sunsets where the brightest part of the scene is centrally located and is surrounded by a darker foreground and sky. The filter is constructed from optical resin that is both durable and helps to maintain high clarity, and it is compatible with the Cokin Z-Pro filter holder.

Reverse graduated filter places the most density in the middle of the filter and tapers to one edge in order to accommodate bright horizons and other situations where the brightest part of the image lies in the middle of the composition.
Neutral density 0.6 provides a 2 stop reduction in light in selective areas.
Constructed from optical resin for overall clarity and durability.
Compatible for use with the Cokin Z-Pro filter holder.
Included filter pouch protects the filter when not in use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Daryl Benson 4x6 Reverse ND Grad Excellent Product to use in combination with other filters specially for sunset/sunrise shots. If you can afford it, you should have it - certainly a must have for Professional Photographers. As an added bonus, customer support from B&H and Singh-Ray are top notch. This specific product works perfectly with Lee Foundation Filter Holder or Cokin Z-Pro Holder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mayukh Banik This is the best one in market. I did try with some other cheap brand by renting them but once I got this I never looked back. It does exactly what it says. True ND leaves no color cast. Do read the 1 page pamphlet that comes in the pack. That's much more worthy than it seems. But one thing, this is not that great for APSC sensor as the graduation is too smooth with respect to the cropped sensor. But I got this because I am gearing up towards the full frame. I can't even take half a star off because of my own problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Singh-Ray Daryl Benson Filters Top noch Singh-Ray filter.. A great weapon on the photographer's arsenal, specially for suntises and sunsets.. I primarly use Lee for filters, since in Europe is much dificult to buy sign-ray, but I would recommend to get your hands in one of these filters, since they do a job that any other company can provide, and I'm meaning quality glass, filter and all.. B&H was the one who can put me in contact with one of these and lead me to acquire him for my set.. Love they payment methods and the shipping.. Very happy with both (B&H and Singh-Ray)..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Daryl Benson 2 stop Reverse ND filter Use this product to balance two areas of brightness within your scene that fall out of the range of your capture medium. Usually a bright sky is darkened by this filter so the foreground and sky will fit into the contrast range of a single exposure. This product is particularly geared toward darkening a sun on the horizon of a landscape scene. Most grad ND filters are darkest at the top and gradate down to clear. This filter is very ingenious in that its darkest density is place towards the middle of the filter with a gradation to clear up and down. Simply, you are darkening the sun or the brightest area of your scene the most when the sun is low on the horizon around sunrise or sunset. The gradation to clear upwards from center also keeps the tops of your image from going to dark. Traditional ND grad filters can cause the top corners of your image to go too dark. It is probably THE grad ND filter for sunrises and sunsets. I would like for it to gradate upwards toward clear quicker but its not a deal breaking compromise. The filter is too expensive, as all Singh-Ray's stuff is. The difference is that this product is a great product compared to the rest of their line. Its is very attractively packaged and is a nice product. I would recommend it if you can afford it. If not go with the Lee filters. Its a five star product but the price is too much for anything but the professional (or rich amateur) photographer, so the filter loses a star.
