The Tiffen 72mm Graduated 0.6 ND Digital HT Filter is a graduated neutral density filter that helps to specifically darken skies and other bright areas of the image. The filter is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a feathered line between the density and clear areas. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and the 0.6 density provides a 2 stop reduction in light from entering the lens. This filter also features a rotating filter ring for flexibility when placing the density over specific areas of the scene.

The Digital HT coating is a high transmission multi-coating that surpasses military specifications for hardness and durability. This optical purity combined with high scratch-resistance results in an easy-to-clean filter with superb imaging quality. They also feature low-profile titanium filter rings for increased strength and vignetting reduction.

0.6 ND graduated filter for darkening skies and other bright areas of the image.
Feathered edge is neither soft nor hard, providing a natural-appearing taper between the density and clear areas of the filter.
Neutral density filters do not affect the overall coloration of the image.
Rotating filter ring allows more control over placement of density in the image.
Digital HT multi-coating provides increased strength, durability, and optical clarity for greater light transmission and protection against scratches.
Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology; a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting to precision metal rings.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from ALL IN ALL I AM SATISFIED Never used a circular neutral density filter before. Had difficulty determining thru the viewfinder (DSLR) if the gradient line was aligned with the horizon. Also not easy to set when viewing from the lens front. Results were as hoped for, dramatic and positive in comparison with an identical unfiltered shot. Although expected, I did not perceive any vignetting when used with a 24 mm focal length lens on a full size sensor (35 mm). Nice storage case. I found some difficulty installing perhaps because the threads are so fine or it is a double ring. It wouldn't be hard to cross thread so exercise caution when installing. I can honestly say installing a single ring UV filter on the same lens was smoother,

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Graduated Filter Like this filter. Will probably buy the 0.9 grad also. I removed 1 star from Tiffen because they were not intuitive or responsive enough to mark on the rotating ring the gradation orientation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Engineered to work -- and it does. Beautifully designed piece of gear, with a thinner profile than several of my simple one-piece filters (i.e., UV), yet it feels at least as rugged and works smoothly. I wanted to experiment with some seascape photography on a recent trip to Maine, and found that this filter substantially reduced the blown-out highlights I had experienced on earlier trips. In many cases, though, I probably would have have been well-advised to have used either a 0.9 graduated filter, or a second standard ND filter below this one, since the lighting conditions I was shooting in were a bit more extreme than I had expected. Still and all, though, I am very happy with this filter, with its results, and with B&H. The only minor practical quibble is that the profile is so thin I found it hard to get it lined up properly to screw into my lens -- but that may be at least partly due to my having large fingers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Nice. I use this filter mostly for landscapes and it has performed beautifully so far. Once attached to the camera, it can be rotated. So you can use it either vertically or horizontally. The only drawback about it is that it is somewhat difficult to clean especially if you get moisture on it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I am very pleased with my purchase Very easy to use. this was my first venture into the use of graduated neutral density filters. It is easy and intuitive to use and it imparts no unwanted reflections, flare or coloration to the scene being photographed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 72mm Digital HT (High Transmission) Grad I love this filter and use it all the time. It's been quite helpful in reducing overexposed areas and has saved photos in less than perfect shooting conditions. I plan to now buy a 4-stop to go with it.
