Freehands 11121MS Overview

  • 1Description

This pair of small black Men's Stretch Thinsulate Gloves from Freehands are designed to be used when photographing outdoors in cold weather. The gloves have a waterproof and windproof backing and are lined with Thinsulate to keep you warm in the winter while being lightweight enough to wear in milder weather.

When photographing in cold weather you can open the finger tips so that you can more easily access small buttons on your camera, which might be difficult to access if you were wearing normal gloves. When you need to access buttons on your camera, simply pull back the thumb and forefinger tips of the gloves to reveal your fingers. The tips are secured in place by magnets until you are ready to cover your fingers again. The palm patch features a silicon grip to prevent your camera from slipping. The gloves are designed to fit snugly so you can hold and operate your camera easily. For a looser fit, order the next size up.

Men's Stretch Thinsulate Gloves (Small, Black) is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 38.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for taking pictures in the cold This glove adequately protects against having cold fingers. I used these gloves in 30 degree temperatures and felt toasty. The tips easily slide on and off and are conveniently held away via a small magnet. It is easy to separate the magnetic catch once done and the finger covers quickly add warmth back to the exposed finger tips. Love these gloves. The only con is that they do feel a bit stiff but they break in over time. I had originally ordered medium and though they fit correctly on most of my fingers, my 4th and 5th finger (pinky and ring finger) we're too long. So, I sent them back and ordered a small and all fingers now fit perfectly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just one major flaw... In terms of functionality and quality, these were exactly the photography gloves I was looking for -- but then I realized it had one major flaw: the magnets (at the index finger and thumb, designed for holding the thumb and forefinger tips when they pull back) get *extremely* cold on colder days. I noticed that while the rest of my fingers were kept relatively warm by the gloves, my index and thumbs are always quickly frozen stiff because of the magnets -- they act like a little ice cubes on your thumbs and index fingers. It's bad enough that if I'm outdoor for a longer duration on a colder day, it's actually a lot better to take off the gloves once the magnets get cold (and being metallic, they get cold really quickly).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Men's Stretch Thinsulate Gloves Men's Stretch Thinsulate Gloves are very comfortable. But their key feature is the ability for your index finger & thumb to be exposed to allow for a much greater precision for photography, fishing, snow skiing, etc. When the weather is cold, most people hate to take their gloves off to adjust something. But popping the top of your glove-finger off is pretty easy and still allows your hands to stay warm. Both left and right hands have the same features (allows index fingers & thumbs to be exposed for better control). Great idea!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful glove! Awful! The material conducts cold. They're not even good on cool spring mornings.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very tight, not that warm, but magnetic tips are great I have small hands so I got the sm that I had to return, exchanged for a medium and they are still very tight. Nice gloves though so I am keeping. Do not expect to wear these gloves in freezing temps for extended periods of time. They are very thin and like I said above tight. I wore them yesterday to pick up daughter from school, it was 30 F and after ten minutes outside I could feel finger tips going numb. For quick camera setups and adjustments these will work great, but have warming gloves around for anything longer

Rated 3 out of 5 by from slightly disappointed I like these gloves;they are warm, fit well, and the free-finger feature is useful.Having the finger exposed allows you to use touch-screens without removing the glove entirely.I have a problem, which I have yet to resolve:one of the seams has opened and there doesn't look like there is enough material to repair it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great purchase! I bought this as a gift for my fiance. His hands were always getting cold when he would take pictures during the fall and winter months. He loves them! They fit perfectly and keep your hands warm. He likes the magnets that hold the fingertips back when they are folded down.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Handy on a cold day It's nice on a cooler day. Not suitable in colder climate. I wish it could be warmer...but of course it's a tradeoff between comfort and convenient.
