Freehands Men's Stretch Thinsulate Gloves Overview

This pair of small black Men's Stretch Thinsulate Gloves from Freehands are designed to be used when photographing outdoors in cold weather. The gloves have a waterproof and windproof backing and are lined with Thinsulate to keep you warm in the winter while being lightweight enough to wear in milder weather.

When photographing in cold weather you can open the finger tips so that you can more easily access small buttons on your camera, which might be difficult to access if you were wearing normal gloves. When you need to access buttons on your camera, simply pull back the thumb and forefinger tips of the gloves to reveal your fingers. The tips are secured in place by magnets until you are ready to cover your fingers again. The palm patch features a silicon grip to prevent your camera from slipping. The gloves are designed to fit snugly so you can hold and operate your camera easily. For a looser fit, order the next size up.

Second Pair - Lasted Years!

I do not remember when I purchased my first pair of these gloves. They are absolutely fantastic. I needed to replace my first pair as the grip was flaking off - they were still warm, finger flaps still perfect, grip was great even as it flaked away into tiny black dust.

Nice, light gloves with ability to use fingers

I like the magnetic feature for the fingertips, and the gloves seem well made with a nice snug feel. My only gripe is the slippery palm materials.

Nice sub-$100 gloves

I would recommend these gloves down to around 25 degrees. Not heavy enough for Arctic winters, but well made and a good value. Just what I needed.

Keep your finger tips warm and flexible on cold winter days

I get up before dawn and hike out to a location in the Salt Marsh, it windy, and cold. Before I found these gloves at B&H my finger tips felt cold and numb after 20 minutes. I could not operate the camera, no more, these Stretch Thinsulate Gloves keep my fingers warm and flexible.

Work well - use their sizing chart

This is my second pair (my first was left in a hotel room in Maine and unfortunately nobody was nice enough to return them). These are well made and warm. They can be a little snug. My hand is right at the limit between XL and XXL and I have owned both. I felt the XXL was a tad to roomy and now with the XL it seems a bit snug - but not so much so that my fingers end up colder than without gloves. For the price these are a bargain. Given that I shoot most of my work in Texas they should last me for years.

Comfortable and practical.

These are nice gloves but not the warmest you can find.....but I live in Iceland so...

Disappointment

I was impressed with how warm they kept my hands, but very disappointed with how well they kept my hands dry. One of the key features was being waterproof. They were no where close to being waterproof.

Does anyone know what the temp rating is for ...

Does anyone know what the temp rating is for these gloves? I have the non thinsulate gloves but I’ve been shooting in the cold for some sports games and my hands went numb.
Asked by: Anonymous
Because the point is to open the finger and thumb to the elements, these gloves are not the best for extremely cold weather--whatever you consider that to be. If you are outside for more than an hour and the temperature is above 20 degrees F, these gloves should work well.

question

How do I wash these gloves? I've used mine for a year and a half in all types of bad weather so they probably need a bath.
Asked by: Susan
Carefully. Suggest soaking in warm (NOT hot) water with a mild detergent. Then, after a couple hours transfer to cold water to rinse soap. Line dry. Washing machine or dryer not recommended. Note, this is what I would or will do; it's not a manufacturer's recommendation.
