This pair of large black Men's Stretch Thinsulate Gloves from Freehands are designed to be used when photographing outdoors in cold weather. The gloves have a waterproof and windproof backing and are lined with Thinsulate to keep you warm in the winter while being lightweight enough to wear in milder weather.

When photographing in cold weather you can open the finger tips so that you can more easily access small buttons on your camera, which might be difficult to access if you were wearing normal gloves. When you need to access buttons on your camera, simply pull back the thumb and forefinger tips of the gloves to reveal your fingers. The tips are secured in place by magnets until you are ready to cover your fingers again. The palm patch features a silicon grip to prevent your camera from slipping. The gloves are designed to fit snugly so you can hold and operate your camera easily. For a looser fit, order the next size up.

Men's Stretch Thinsulate Gloves (Large, Black) is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 195.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Flexible Warmth In Moderate Cold This is my second pair of these gloves, having worn out the first. In my personal experience, in moderate cold conditions (20F) they provide enough protection to capture winter landscapes that may require up to an hour of outdoor exposure. When the wind is creating -30F they provide enough protection and flexibility to capture those 5 minute setups that mean getting the shot or not. I've tried at least two dozen different gloves, including battery-heated, which invariably have to be removed for setup. And when I consider whether I want to expose my expensive pro equipment to the elements, one of the measures is how long my gloves are protecting my fingers.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from a bit over rated I'm a landscape photographer working outdoors in all sorts of weather. These gloves work well in cool, but not cold temperatures... at 32 degrees they're okay for perhaps up to about an hour and often even less (half that) depending on the individual at which point one's fingertips become very numb. At lower temps in the teens, forget it, they won't keep your fingers warm for even 5 minutes. Somewhere buried on one of the websites for the product by other marketers was a comment about buying a size up with a liner for more warmth - a comment I wish that I'd seen sooner.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from best gloves I've found so far Not waterproof, and not especially warm when compared to normal winter gloves, but these gloves do allow me to operate my camera outdoors in winter much longer than with bare hands. In cool or moderately cold weather they work pretty well. In extreme weather, not so much. They seem well made, but not for everyday use. I expect they will last with occasional use. There are magnets to keep the fold-back fingertips out of the way. The magnets work well, but I'm not sure how I feel about them overall, because the magnets annoyingly cling to everything that is metal. I like these gloves, but will continue to search for something better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for cool weather, not extremely cold weather These are well made gloves and the lining is nice and toasty. The only problem is that in order for the forefinger and thumb to be flexible enough to do the opening trick, they had to leave out the insulation on two of the 5 fingers. I find that under 40 degree F my thumb and forefinger get a bit chilly (even if I keep the tips closed) while my other three fingers are nice and warm. I'll be keeping the gloves though because the functionality is the best I've seen (much better that shooter's gloves of flip mittens). They are great for shooting a DSLR or using a phone. I love the magnets that hold the flaps open while you have your fingers exposed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Glove - Size up if in between sizes Very pleased with the construction and quality when received from B&H. Originally I thought the medium would fit - better a little snug for tactile purposes. I was wrong. There was no room when I curled my fingers and the magnets pinched my knuckles. Replaced with a large and they fit great. (I have slightly short fingers on an average size hand - when I measured per the chart I was just within the medium specs.) With the proper size the magnets are not an issue on the knuckles. The quality of the glove surpassed my expectations - will see how they perform in the cold.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great gloves, sizes run small These gloves are great for temperatures from the low-50's to low-30's (Fahrenheit). Any colder and you're going to need warmer gloves. The thumb and index finger of each glove flip back (held in place by two magnets) to allow for some manual dexterity. As noted by several other reviewers, these gloves run on the small-side, especially for the two fingers that can be exposed. I originally ordered Mediums which fit great for all of my fingers except the index finger and thumb - these were too tight. I returned the Mediums and replaced them with Large size gloves - the index fingers and thumbs fit great, but the rest are a little loose.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ugly To The Bone First off, these gloves are not sized properly. The large I ordered were a medium at best. I could have lived with this but too many other factors dictated the return to where they came from. The index finger opening on the right hand was poorly stitched. The material was bunched/gathered at the base of the opening. It wasn't smooth where the finger bends at the upper knuckle. It felt odd. Now for the reason I bought these in the first place and that was to keep my hands warm. I would have had better luck if I had worn a pair of dress socks on my hands. My fingers were numb after a short period of time in the outdoors.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sized a Bit Small and Snug Sturdy, well made glove, but smaller than usual glove sizing. Also, they're on the firm side, and by that I mean they're not very flexible, even with the finger/thumb flaps flipped open, so I'm hoping they soften up a bit. If you've got big mitt, size up or look elsewhere. I have smaller hand and usually get a Medium size. I had to exchange MED size for LRG, and I'm still far from swimming in them as I usually would in a LRG. I was hoping to replace a pair of similar gloves I lost, and it was a no-brainer at the bargain ($ sale), so I wouldn't recommend these at full price, and the weren't not so great at sale price either (since I had to ship the return). I haven't tested the warmth yet.
