Celestron's X-Cel LX 2.3mm Eyepiece is designed for comfortable near and deep-space astronomical observation. It is built with a 6-element lens configuration, blackened edges, and anti-reflective fully multi-coated optical surfaces to ensure bright and clear high-contrast images with true color transmission across the entire wide 60° field of view. Celestron engineered the X-Cel LX series of eyepieces with a long 16mm eye relief that brings the user's face back from the scope to minimize vibrations caused by contact with the eyepiece. All eyepieces in the series are completely parfocal, making switching eyepieces convenient by not requiring re-focusing. With a 1.25" diameter barrel, it will fit the most common size drawtubes, visual backs, and accessories; and a rubberized collar provides a non-slip grip especially in cold weather and when wearing gloves. The housing is made of a lightweight and durable aluminum alloy with a reflection-limiting matte anodized finish, and a retractable eyecup that extends with a simple twist for comfortable use with or without eyewear.

Buy this! This EP has been the missing link to me being able to see clearly the stars in the sky. I bought into the "value assortment" pack and I regretted it sorely. I almost gave up my scope because I could not see anything cool. Well I buckled down and bought the 7mm first and WOW. I saw the bands on Jupiter and rings on Saturn crisp and clear! I was so happy with the purchase I then bought the 25mm to replace my stock plossil. This line of EP's rivals the more expensive brands and so if you want quality with an affordible price then I highly recommend the X-Cel LX.

does this fit the Nexstar 4 se?
Yes, physically it will fit. The problem the focal length of your 4se is 1325mm. Using this 2.3mm eyepiece would give you a power of 575x. I'd say the max you could use would be more like a 5mm eyepiece.

What is the diameter of the opening in the eyepiece 2.3mm that I can peek through? 2.3mm or ?
Hi,The nice thing about this X-cell ep is that the exit lens is quite large. I'm not sure about the exact diameter but if you look at the picture the barrel ( the part that goes into the diagonal) is 1.25 and the exit lens you put your eye to looks close to that diameter.

Does anyone know if this eyepiece is usable with the DSLR camera adapter? I'm noticing the lenses that work with this are somewhat limited...
Unfortunately, this eyepiece is not compatible with the T adapter.
