Ideal for film shoots and sound design in outdoor locations, this B&H Kit features the Rode NTG2 battery-/phantom-powered shotgun microphone and a Rode WS6 deluxe windshield. The windshield incorporates a rubber base and a layer of acoustically transparent artificial fur over an open-cell foam surround to effectively reduce wind noise and give you a cleaner sound even when shooting in windy conditions. Simply slip it over the NTG2 and you're ready for the outdoors.

Yeah it works well. There will still be some background noise but it's minimal. Just make sure to disable auto gain on the camera, or install magic lantern.

Does the NTG-2 have a db pad? Like a -10db switch?

No, the RODE NTG2 Shotgun Microphone does not have a -10 dB pad, but it does have a switchable high-pass filter set at 80 Hz which can be used to remove low frequency noise that is not part of your intended source.
