A Tripod for a King

I don't always buy tripods, but when I do... I buy this one at B&H. I have a projector movie/tv thing, and it was balanced on an egg carton: an actual egg carton. Every couple of days, I would try to turn on the projector, and it would fall off the end table I found on the street on W 71st between Broadway and West End. Finally, I had enough. I took the 1 train to Penn Station, and walked all the way over to B&H. When I got upstairs, I went straight to the tripod area, and was helped immediately. After looking at everything, the wonderful salesperson pointed at the VT-200. "How about this one? Will this work?" "How much is it?" "About fifty bucks." "Perfect." We made the deal right there. I went downstairs, paid and received the VT-200. When I got home, I screwed my projector onto the little screw on top of the tripod, and it worked like butter. It was if the two were meant for eachother. I felt like a small part of destiny. Here is a picture of Buster the Cat watching Endless Sunshine of the Spotless Mind on a stabilized movie projector thanks to the Magnus VT-200.

Good tripod for the price

Solid for the money, nice and smooth fluid head. Feels a bit cheaper and, strangely, flimsier than my seven-year-old VT-100 (one model down), even though this one is rated to carry more weight. Not sure if this is a manufacturing change that's occurred since I bought that one, or if it's a difference in the models, but either way I prefer the VT-100.

question

Will this tripod work with a Canon Vixia HF S30 video camera?
Asked by: Susan H.
It should. Your camera is a larger shoulder-mounted unit with lots of features. Highly rated. We use a similar uniton this tripod, Canon AHX1, I think is the model. The camera mount screws into the bottom of thecamera, like most do, then locks in place on top of the tripod We do not have a problem with weight. Tripod works well.
