Impact Luxbanx Duo Small Strip Softbox (12 x 36")
Key Features
  • For Strobe, LED, Fluorescent Lights
  • Also Compatible with Quartz Lights
  • Maximum Quartz Wattage: 750W
  • Heat-Resistant Textured Silver Interior
The Luxbanx Duo Small Strip Softbox from Impact is a versatile 12 x 36" light-shaping tool for strobe, LED, and fluorescent lights. It has a heat-resistant, textured-silver interior so you can use it with quartz lights up to 750W. When using the Luxbanx Duo with strobes, attach the front diffuser and inner baffle for maximum softening of the output. When using it with hot lights, the inner baffle should be removed. Open face lights can be used as is, but it's recommended that you use the flood setting rather than spot on Fresnel sources. The softbox has four forward-opening vents to dissipate heat. Removing the front and inner diffuser essentially turns the Luxbanx Duo into a large reflector with maximum brightness and contrast.

question

Will the Impact duo Small Strip Softbox work on Elenchrom Strobe lights?
Asked by: Larry D.
Yes, the Impact Luxbanx Duo Small Strip Softbox (12 x 36 ) is compatible for use on Elinchrom strobe light fixtures. While knowing which specific fixture you own would be beneficial in making a recommendation, the Impact Speed Ring for Elinchrom, Impact EX, B&H # IMSRELI, should work well for your needs.

question

why no speedrings for Norman 2400 or 2500; or photogenic DR2500?
Asked by: Rick T.
They have speedrings for those lights, but I'm not sure if the box fits the lights you are using. I don't use those brands of lights, so I can't tell you if this box is compatible with them. MIght be a question for their customer service (either Luxbanx or B&H).

question

I'm looking for something similar to a back light from a natural source, such as a window. Will this product satisfy that requirement? I also need to know what type of light would come closest to simulating a natural light source.Thank you
Asked by: Anonymous
The Impact Luxbanx Duo Small Strip Softbox is not a light source in itself; it is simply a softbox that you would add to the compatible light source you are using. However, as it is roughly the size of a small-to-medium window (also depending on the distance from which you place the light respect to your subject), it can be used to mimic window lighting. You can use a combination of light distance, camera settings, white balance, or even filter gels to get different effects or simulate lighting during different times of the day, but as long as the light is placed at a distance roughly the distance a window of equal size would naturally appear, the light can be tailored to mimic natural lighting.
