The Speed Ring for Dynalite and Lowel Omni-lights from Impact features indexed flex rod holes that allow you to effortlessly mount any square, rectangular, strip, or octagonal Luxbanx softbox to Dynalite flash heads (except for Baja series) and Lowel Omni-light hot lights. The ring will also fit most other brands of softbox. The sturdy all-metal ring rotates 360 degrees to facilitate orientation or to clear obstacles in tight quarters. It has 3/8"-16 taps on two sides to allow mounting directly to grip gear such as Impact's Swivel Umbrella Adapter, 3 Section Double Articulated Arm, Super Clamp, and more.

Needed to replace an old speed ring but did not want to pay the Chimera price for a legacy / nostalgia piece of equipment. As the RiMELITE SDL-16 isn't stocked anywhere I spoke with the parts team & they advised this unit would work. At $20 it is perfect, fits the octa perfectly, no stretching & removing thebrods was only difficult as my hands were sweaty. Gloves on & they pop out without any hassle.

Is there a speed ring adapter so I can use softboxes with a Bowen mount with my Omni lights
There are no Bowens mounts available. Only standard design speed rings that use poles are available.

What is the best speed ring and octabox for dynalite
I have Impact speedrings, c-stands and light modifiers, as well as older alternatives. I would suggest evaluating each modifier independently, and carefully evaluate features for strobe vs. hotlights. I am very satisfied with my final choices, but I did go through trial and error with different brands and configurations. I've been shooting with Dynalight since digital photo replaced film as the more efficient medium in terms of cost efficacy and work efficiency. This brand's support of their older models has fallen way off in recent years. My first suggestion is expense now vs over time, because another option (not unpopular) is to trade out of Dynalite into one of the more modern brands. I decided that Impacts light modifiers were mostly universal with the speedrings to transfer to other brands when the upgrade opportunity presents itself. Good luck with this important equipment upgrade review you are undergoing. I'd be interested to see what you finally choose.

question
how does this speeding attach to Omni Light? Do the screws scratch up the metal casing on the Omni Light? I don't see a place on my Omni Light where the screws would attach.
I use mine on Dynalite 2040s, and they just screw to case, though the Dynas have a lip so it won't slip. The rubber things on the screws to protect case are useless and will fall off, so be aware of that. Other than that, I use them all the time.

question
What is the diameter of the hole? Planning to use 2 speedlights. (4.5 inch wide combined)
A better option for adapting a speedring to speedlight strobes is the Impact SR-SHOE-D - it holds one or two speedlights and radio remotes too.

question
what is the soft box compatible with this speed ring and the Lowel Omni light?
Sorry for the delay. I ordered the Photoflex Small LiteDome (17 x 22 x 13 ). According to the B&H website however, it says this has been discontinued. I was told the company went out of business. Try eBay?
