Canon 5673B001 reviews

E-58 II 58mm Lens Cap is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 135.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fitting a Lens Cap I lost my first lens cap this year, after almost 4 decades of photography! So I wanted to replace it with an original maker lens cap. I had found while hiking on a trail, a few years ago, a 58mm lens cap which fits but is not a fully functional cap as the cap needs to have the center-squeeze snap-on design and the one I found has the outside-squeeze design. This former style works to keep the lens hood on in the reversed direction but can't be used to cover the actual lens when the lens hood is in use. The center-squeeze is necessary for this lens and lens hood but is not as secure as the outside-squeeze type. Since I prefer to always use a lens hood on my lens, I needed the replacement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very handy center pinch My new 18-55 STM IS lens came equipped with this new (to me) center pinch lens cap, which I learned quickly is really handy for removing the lens camp while the lens hood is attached. I have small hands and can generally reach inside the lens hood and use the outside pincher to remove the lens cap,but this center pinch is a great improvement. I ordered this identical cap for my G1X which fits with the UVfilter attached. For those who prefer it, the cap also has the regular outside pincher, so rest assured, you can have your desired method of lens cap removal at hand (literally) !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Change! I purchased one of these lens caps and also got the same style in other sizes so I could change the lens caps of all my lenses at once. I knew I would like this style of cap because my Lensbaby has this style of cap, so I just went for it. I was not wrong; I love these caps! They are deeper, go on easier (no half-on-the-threads mess), stay on well, and look more modern. I highly recommend them! And, if you prefer side-pinch, you can still pinch these open from the side, if you prefer, which can be easier on the hands to do on some sizes of caps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So much better than the original! I own 6 different Canon lenses and have always struggled to remove the caps when the lens hood is attached. I end up leaving the lens cap off to avoid the hassle. These new caps solve the problem. Don't know why it took Canon so long to come out with them. They seem solidly built and I can't wait for the 77mm ones to come out later this month. I will be ordering three of those!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good build quality. It's not possible to tell from the pictures but the plastic feels far nicer and sturdier than the old side pinch canon lens caps or any lens caps I've ever handled, for that matter. The pinch mechanism works as one would expect. Another property of the cap that is lost in the pictures is the thickness. They are noticeably thicker than the old side pinch caps. The thickness allows the pinch mechanism to be further from the lens (as a safety precaution, I assume). Granted, noticeably thicker, in this case, will not make a difference since they are still quite thin. Of course, the usual benefit (being able to manipulate the cap with the hood attached) apply when upgrading from the stock canon caps. I bought this cap to replace the stock canon cap on my Canon 50mm f1.4. I've done the same for my Canon 100mm f2.8 L macro (67mm). This review may be applied to both caps as they are identical save for the diameter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fits Perfectly Great little lens cover - well made, fits perfectly. Though it is silghtly more expensive than others I've seen. I'm sure it's because of the Canon name on the cap. I'd recommend without hesitation if the price is ok with you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long Overdue This cap replaces the Canon original. With a mounted lens hood, the new inside pinch style of lens cap is much easier to attach or remove.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from New is not always better It serves the purpose but the center button release just does grip on the lens like the old caps. It serves the purpose I guess.
