Taking design inspiration from the venerable Ethos line but with a narrower field of view to provide users with a longer, more comfortable eye relief, the Tele Vue Delos 17.3mm Eyepiece was designed for easy long-duration lunar and planetary observation. Index-matched antireflective multicoatings applied to the glass lenses were engineered specifically to maximize light transmission and produce sharp, bright, high-contrast, and color-faithful images across the entire spacious 72° apparent field of view. The rubber eyecup has an adjustable height to further enhance contrast by preventing stray light from entering your peripheral vision, which can interfere with the image seen through the ocular. The eyepiece is offered with a 1.25" diameter barrel for compatibility with a wide variety of filters and accessories .

Not good for short refractors
The eyepiece is definitely of high Tele Vue quality and it optically excellent. However, when used with short refractors, it is not as good as delos 12mm or 14mm in terms of handling of field curvature. I bought it for my short refractor - Sky-Watcher evostar 72ed, and the difference between on-axis and on-edge focus was about 1mm of focuser's travel. My 72ED refractor has mush flatter field than many short FL ones out there, and I had been hoping it would work well with my scope. Since buying a field flattener (another several hundred dollars) is not an option for me, I decided to return it. Also, when making a purchase I paid $47.44 USD of sales tax directly to B&H (I was buying from Canada), and it was pretty frustrating that the refund did not include that value. So In total I lost almost $100 USD (sales tax plus $50 USD for mailing the eyepiece back). Very frustrating experience...
Clear and comfortable
This is becoming my go-to eyepiece to start viewing most things, because of its clarity and relatively wide AFOV. I really like the the eye relief and the flip-up eye ring. Will definitely be purchasing others from this family of eyepieces!
