I can't find how long this battery lasts. Am I missing something or it sheer XXXX?
1 Hour average, always have at least 3 times the battery power you need from the intended reecording time.If you plan to record 1 hour of footage , take at least charged batteries that give you 3 hrs of power.

I don't know about the BP828. I use the BP-827, which has the largest capacity I know of for the XA10. It does not work for the XA25. In fact, none of the XA10 batteries I have will work on the XA25. Now I can no longer test batteries for the XA10, as it appears someone stole my Canon XA10. Sigh.
