I can't find how long this battery lasts. Am I missing something or it sheer XXXX?
1 Hour average, always have at least 3 times the battery power you need from the intended reecording time.If you plan to record 1 hour of footage , take at least charged batteries that give you 3 hrs of power.

The BP827 was the original high capacity for the XA10. It was replaced by the BP828. I just put a fully charged BP828 on my XA10 and it showed 311 minutes of record time in the LCD. I like the BP820 batteries because they don t protrude from the battery cavity like the BP828. But for longest battery life, get the BP828 it works fine on the XA10. B & H has the Watson brand batteries that seem to get good reviews, but I've never tried them. Amazon has the Wasabi brand that I have tried and they seem to work very well and they are much cheaper than the Canon brand. I use the Wasabi brand for backups. Good Luck
