Perfect for live video switching on the go, Roland is introducing its V-1HD High-Definition Video Switcher. The V-1HD is housed in a metal-surfaced chassis, for durability and reliable operation, smaller than a standard computer keyboard. With four switchable HDMI inputs alongside 12 channels of audio mixing using analog and digital inputs, the V-1HD punches above its weight class with pro-level features. Among those features is support for advanced compositing effects, such as picture-in-picture, keying for graphic inserts, titling, and chroma / luminance-keying. All essential controls are at your fingertips, with a T-fader, 4 take and 4 preview keys, input/output fade control, tempo-controlled effects, and other effects parameter controls. The V-1HD also has stereo analog audio I/O for accepting legacy audio sources or portable audio players and connecting to analog outboard gear.

Additional amenities provided by the V-1HD include a headphone output for monitoring audio and multi-view output mode for showing a program output using the preview HDMI slot, as well. HDMI inputs pass through HDCP-protected content for connecting to Blu-ray players. Transformer keys can morph video signals into exciting visual effects. For simple setup, the V-1HD has programmable presets. You can have one preset for switching live streaming video and immediately switch to another preset to have the switcher ready for a concert or a presentation. The MIDI in/out/thru jacks can connect to outboard gear for controlling the V-1HD or having the V-1HD control the outboard gear. MIDI can work in conjunction with switching and presets to control automated lighting, projector screen LV control, and more.

With the portability afforded by the V-1HD’s small footprint, it can be brought along on a production where video from multiple sources can be switched live for an output feed into video streaming hardware. Performance venues can use the V-1HD for controlling an A/V feed to a projector. The four HDMI inputs can accept various HD resolutions; 720p, 1080i, or 1080p and the HDMI outputs can be globally set to any of those resolutions to ensure that the content is provided in a consistent standard. Input resolution will be conformed to match the output standard.  Aside from the onboard controls, the V-1HD can be connected to a PC for extended flexibility and iPad control. Make any space a professional studio or performance space— just bring along the Roland V-1HD.
