Archival Photo Sleeves, Pages, and Rolls
When you're storing physical media, such as prints, film, and other documents, it's extremely important to protect them from deteriorating over time, and archival sleeves and pages help you do that. There are many options available, with each option offering their own benefits.
What Are Archival Photo Sleeves?
Over time, photos can be severely damaged by handling and environmental conditions. By placing your media in archival photo sleeves, you protect them from dust, moisture, spills, fingerprints, and other common problems. Archival-quality sleeves and pages should be acid-free, so they don't discolor, fade, or otherwise deteriorate your film or prints over long-term storage.
Choosing Archival Photo Sleeves and Other Options
It's very important to make sure that the size sleeve you choose works with your media, as the entire object must be protected. Slide and negative sleeves provide specific sizes to ensure absolute coverage of those media. If you're planning to remove the individual pieces occasionally to access them, you'll want to consider access options. For example, rolls are convenient if you're storing a large amount of film, but it may be easier to access your film with side-loading pages.
Other Storage Solutions and Accessories
For additional security, consider using archival museum and preservation boxes after you've placed everything in sleeves. These boxes also help you organize your collection. Envelopes come in a wide variety of sizes if you're looking to store odd-sized photographs, archival papers, or artwork.
If you want to show off your photos in their sleeves or pages, a wide array of photo albums and accessories are available in various sizes, so you can find one that works with the sleeves you select. Photo albums may include non-archival protective pages, and if you don't require archival-level protection, you could certainly use them, and you can obtain album refill pages when you run out.
Whatever your needs, B&H Photo and Video has a wide selection of archival sleeves and other storage solutions available to protect and preserve your photos, film, and other physical media.
