The Sigma USB Dock allows you to connect your Sigma Global Vision lenses to your computer in order to update firmware and adjust focus setting parameters using the Sigma Optimization Pro software.

This dock is only compatible with the Sigma Art, Contemporary, and Sports line lenses featuring a Sony A lens mount.

Sigma Optimization Pro
Once a Sigma Art, Contemporary, or Sports line lens is connected, you can use the Sigma Optimization Pro software to configure focus settings and update lens firmware.
Focus Settings
For all lines of lenses, there are four categories for prime lenses and 16 categories (four options for focal length, four options for shooting distance) for zoom lenses available. These categories allow you to set certain focusing settings to better suit your personal shooting style.
Sports Line-Specific Settings
If using a Sports line lens, additional lens configurations are available: three different AF speed modes to modify how quickly the lens changes focus; the ability to constrain focus distances within a specific range to suit your personal shooting habits; and three Optical Stabilizer modes to suit the manner in which you are shooting.

You will need this if your Sigma lenses need adjustments. My a-mount Sigma 24-105mm was a bit front-focus out of box at 70mm and 105mm so I had to use it to make adjustments. The good thing was it came with the lens for free, part of the reason I grabbed deal as soon as it appeared.

Somewhat disaapointed

I recently received a sigma 35mm 1.4 DG for Christmas, I was beyond excited! But i am having some serious auto-focus issues and even a little hang ups with the sensitivity on manual focus. After reading up on it, I purchased this dock . I was hoping to be able to customize the focus points and maybe get a little more fine tuning to the sony. The Sigma Optimization Software is really easy to use and install, they even provide step by step videos. Unfortunately, it just can't do much for my 35mm. I can see where it would work wonders for the longer range lenses , but don't waste the dollars for portrait length. The entire buying and installation process was definitely 5 stars, but the actual benefit of the product for me was lacking.

Oh gosh

When I was just using micro adjustments, in camera. I found that things changed from close up to far . I didn't need it as much micro adjustments. At far as i needed close up. I picked up a Autofocus Calibration Aid. That when i found out what was going on. I was inputting micro adjustments ever time i want in for a close up . this got old fast . the USB Dock has Fixed this . i can hit focus ever time at F1.4 . close up through out the 4 zones . The software program is easy to use. Install was simple . I don't like the fact. It look's to see if the firmware. Is up to date, ever time you dock the lens .It would be nice if had a setting look only once a day .My 35 mm has 4 focus zone's to edit. Take picture put on dock wait for the firmware is up to date.edit zone take picture wait for firmware is up to date. now edit. I think you get the point now moveing on . in the software. Editing the zone's. selecting the zone... Ya i scrached my head a little on that part . To make it simple Click the 0 under the red line , in the zone . You want to edit.. very simple once you know were to click ! Autofocus Calibration Aid, you will need this .To see what your doing. So the question's Dose it work ? YES it dose ! Is it worth the money ? YES it is ! Is it easy to use ?once you know were to click . YES it is . Any thing you would change ? Yes looking to see if the lens is up to date ! Can we say annoying ? YES WE CAN!

I shoot with a Sony Alpha 65 that does not have a microadjustment focus feature, so I was very glad to be able to get this to use with my Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 Dc Hsm Art Lens. This also allows for many more adjustments than an in camera adjustment would, it really makes a world of difference.

The dock came with the Sigma 24-105mm lens I bought as a packaged deal. My copy was a bit off at focusing at around 70mm and 105mm. The focus plane falls short of the target by a large margin. This is when the dock comes in real handy. After some adjustments (by trial and error), now my lens is tack sharp at these two focus lengths.

This is a fascinating device that helps future proof compatible lenses. The supporting software indicates that it can adjust a number of firmware metrics depending on the lens used.

Could this help with my Sigma a mount 120-400mm? Noticed skmeissues with focussing when I shot a professional soccer match this weekend. I have it adapted to my A7RII (bought used and adapted cause of the affordability)

The Sigma USB Dock for Sony A-Mount Lenses will only work with Sigma Global Vision lenses. These are the Art, Sports or Contemporary lenses. Not with the Sigma 120mm-400mm lens released in 2008.

Is this necessary for my used Sigma A mount 120-400mm? I have it adapted to my A7RII and noticed some off points while trying to get it to focus on closer subjects while shotting a professional soccer match. Could this be useful?

The Sigma USB Dock for Sony A-Mount Lenses will only work with Sigma Global Vision lenses. These are the Art, Sports or Contemporary lenses. Not with the Sigma 120mm-400mm lens that you have, because it was released in 2008, and it doesn't have the connectors for that dock.

question

Does it make sense to buy to upgrade firmware Sigma 18-35/1.8 for Sony? Or there was no update for this lens? I have it not work correctly through the LA-EA3 with A6300.
Asked by: Oleksandr K.
I don't think there is a firmware update for the Sony mount version of the 18-35mm f/1.8.However, you almost for sure need the dock to adjust your autofocus, because I have never heard of the 18-35 having perfect autofocus on a Sony camera yet. I had to do a lot of adjusting to get my focus correct. As for it not working with the la-ea3 and the a6300, I don't know if there is a fix for that.Good luck.

question

dimension?
Asked by: Anonymous
The unit fits onto the end of your lens in place of the camera. It is smaller diameter than the 35 mm Sigma art lens, and although do not have it in front of me maybe an inch tall.

question

Is this compatible to Sony E Mount's Sigma 18-300mm lens?
Asked by: Jack L.
Thank you for your interest in Sigma product. As of now, Sigma doesn't make a USB dock nor an 18-300mm lens in E_mount. This product is compatible with Sigma SGV lenses for Sony A-mount.
