The Sigma USB Dock allows you to connect your Sigma Global Vision lenses to your computer in order to update firmware and adjust focus setting parameters using the Sigma Optimization Pro software.

This dock is only compatible with the Sigma Art, Contemporary, and Sports line lenses featuring a Nikon F lens mount.

Sigma Optimization Pro
Once a Sigma Art, Contemporary, or Sports line lens is connected, you can use the Sigma Optimization Pro software to configure focus settings and update lens firmware.
Focus Settings
For all lines of lenses, there are four categories for prime lenses and 16 categories (four options for focal length, four options for shooting distance) for zoom lenses available. These categories allow you to set certain focusing settings to better suit your personal shooting style.
Sports Line-Specific Settings
If using a Sports line lens, additional lens configurations are available: three different AF speed modes to modify how quickly the lens changes focus; the ability to constrain focus distances within a specific range to suit your personal shooting habits; and three Optical Stabilizer modes to suit the manner in which you are shooting.

USB Dock for Nikon F-Mount Lenses is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 106.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from adjust focus points The Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 Nikon mount lens that I was using on a D7000 was back focusing @ f1.8 & close focus distances where the depth of field is very narrow. The Sigma dock allowed me to make adjustments that put focus right where it should be. This dock was used in conjunction with a Lens Align. the only negative is that you need to make a guess as to how much adjustment is required when you determine that the combination is front or back focusing. After the adjustment, which is easy, you again have to test the lens to see if you guessed correctly. If not you make another adjustment & test again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kind of necessary I recently purchased the Sigma 150-600mm Sports Zoom. I'd read about how helpful the dock was for others, but didn't get it when I did the lens. Thought I might get lucky. On my first real test of the zoom, I was disappointed at how soft the focus was at 600mm. I went back over some of the critiques that had mentioned the dock, realized I'd goofed up and ordered it. Very big difference after tweaking the focus. Very much better. Save yourself some time and get the dock the same time you get the zoom.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must have For Sigma Lenses I could not believe the difference in my sharpness after I calibrated my 17-70C with this USB dock. Having the D5300, I do not have AF micro adjust on my body. So, this was kind of a needed tool. It does take some patience though. There are a lot of settings to adjust. The results were worth it. Incredible sharpness at all focal lengths and distances. It really kind of disappoints me that I cannot put my Nikon lenses on it, LOL. I have a 35 1.8G that could use some slight tweaking. I think it's worth the money. I have never sent in a camera w/ lens to get adjusted, but I bet it's more then what the price of this is...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cool I bought this at the same time I purchased the Sigma 35mm Art lens, which is my first lens made by Sigma (all my other lenses are Nikkor). PROS: It's great to be able to fine tune lenses myself as opposed to sending it in. Built quality is excellent. CONS: Software is good but lacking in a bit of instructions. Turns out my Sigma 35mm was tack sharp out of the box which I confirmed with the USB Dock, thus it needed no adjustment. So I wonder whether I should have purchased this thing in the first place. Thinking that it will come in handy eventually as I plan to purchase more Sigma lenses, and eventually will change camera body as new models come out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Idea I like the idea of being able to update firmware and make changes to a lens. The software for the USB Dock requires a computer with Windows 7 and newer although I have the previous version, Windows Vista. The download went fine and the software seems to work with Vista. The firmware of my 18-300mm lens was up to date. I played around with the focus settings but have not made any final settings. Very easy to go back to the default settings. I plan to buy other Sigma lenses that this will work with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sigma Dock I purchased the dock to use with the Sigma 150-600C lens that I purchased. I had previously focus tuned the Nikon lens that I own but you can only tune them at one distance / zoom setting. The dock allows tuning at four distances and four zoom setting on the 150-600. To do this you will need a product like Lens Align to accurately tell where the lens is focusing and to verify focus after you make the adjustments. The process of tuning the focus is tedious but to me the results are worth it. The dock also lets you tune the focus speed and the vibration reduction setting to customize it to what you are shooting. A third benefit is allowing future firmware updates to be loaded into the lens without sending it back to the factory.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good functionality - somewhat overpriced It is very useful, but technically a rather simple USB-to-lens CPU interface and works as advertised:- It looks for lens firmware updates and installs them, if applicable.Based on the lens it allows for:- Focus customization at 4 distance ranges.- Auto Focus speed setting customization. - Focus Limiter setting customization.- Optical Stabilizer customization. The control software (Mac or Windows) and the related software user guide are NOT included and need to be downloaded from sigma-global. This is not necessarily a bad idea since it guarantees the latest versions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great capability for your lens This seems like a great capability for the lens. I have had the lens a couple of weeks during which time I updated the firmware, customized the lens, and set autofocus fine adjustments for the 150-600 Sport lens. I am still not certain the autofocus adjustments are correct but I will fine tune them over time. The firmware update and customization alone make this an outstanding addition. The autofocus fine adjustment is icing on the cake.
