The KMT21 Mark I 1600W Powered Subwoofer with DSP from K-array is a complete audio system, featuring a 21” powered subwoofer, programmable on-board DSP, and multiple analog and digital inputs & outputs for creating a broad range of speaker configurations. Equipped with a codec that lowers the signal/noise ratio, the KMT21 Mark I Subwoofer comes with a 5 VDC power connector on the rear panel, and enhanced functionality for creating presets. The AES/EBU output is latency-free (thru).
The KMT21 Mark I Subwoofer features an integrated touchscreen that provides intuitive control over the main DSP functions including input/output levels, signal routing, offset delays for subwoofer and speaker output (up to 10 ms, each) and overall system delay (up to 330 ms). All DSP functions, including EQ, can also be remote controlled via software over USB or RS485 (3-pin XLR).
The subwoofer further provides two balanced analog line-level inputs and a two-channel AES/EBU digital input. An integrated Class-D amplifier delivers 2 x 2400W at 4 ohms, with a max THD of 1% (EIAJ test @ 1 kHz). The rear panel features multiple analog and digital outputs, including a Speakon output to connect a wide array of passive speakers including Kobra & Python mid-high modules or KMT21P additional passive subwoofers (sold separately). To optimize performance, the on-board DSP includes presets to drive K-array speakers.
The KMT21 Mark I Subwoofer’s four-corner port configuration provides symmetrical back-loading to the speakers for extended bass response with low distortion. The port configuration also provides incredible structural strength to the cabinet, despite its light weight. Pocket handles and an M20 thread-mount position for attaching mid-high speakers makes it convenient to use and ideal for medium-throw applications in theaters, concert halls, and audio/video installations.
