I recently bought these legs, and the lever on my old geared column hits the legs when I crank the column. Do the new geared columns fix that? One review here said it’s an issue.
The Gitzo GT3543XLS Systematic Series 3 Carbon Fiber Tripod (Extra Long) (B&H# GIGT3543XSUS) and every other tripod requires the usage of a specific and compatible column (if one will be used at all since they're not required). Unfortunately, there is no one universal fit nor even a common standard. In the case of this particular Systematic Series 3 tripod, the required product would be the Gitzo GS3513S Rapid Center Column for Series 2, 3, and 4 Systematic Tripods (B&H# GIGS3513S); Speaking generally, tripod columns and legs are not universally cross-compatible, even within the same brand.

Will this tripod hold 600mm lens?
I would add ball head RRS BH-55 but i just looked at the folded length of the tripod and is 28". So i was wondering if GT3543LS / GT3533LS would handle that lens and that ballhead? GT3543LS is 22.4".
