The camera records up to UHD 4K resolution video at 24/30 fps and 150 Mbps to dual SD cards. It features built-in wireless streaming in up to 1920 x 1080 HD, a 3-position ND filter, 3G-SDI and HDMI outputs, and much more. • JVC GY-LS300 4KCAM Handheld S35mm Camcorder (Body Only)

A small form factor, Super-35mm-sized, CMOS, 4K sensor and MFT interchangeable lens mount are just the beginning when discussing JVC's GY-LS300 4KCAM Handheld S35mm Camcorder. The GY-LS300 is part of JVC's 4KCAM line of cameras, which can record 8-bit 4:2:2 HD Signals at up to 60P at 50 Mb/s. This camcorder supports dual codec recording, allowing to capture two different codecs, .mov and AVCHD, simultaneously to its dual SDHC/SDXC media card slots using optional media cards. The camcorder incorporates 3G-SDI and HDMI outputs, supporting 4K output over the HDMI out.

Supporting wireless streaming to a variety of streaming services while simultaneously recording HD to an optional memory card is a strength of GY-LS300. It also supports IP network remote control, remote viewing, metadata editing, and FTP of clips across a network using optional network connections and adapters. This is for the camcorder body only and does not include a lens. However, the camcorder features an MFT mount that allows you to use a wide variety of full-frame, PL, C, and EF mount lenses with optional adapters. It also features both a flip out 3.5 LCD viewscreen and flip up EVF. A detachable handle provides two XLR audio inputs, each with phantom power.

The GY-LS300 features a JVCKENWOOD AltaSens 4K CMOS Super 35mm image sensor and a Micro Four Thirds (MFT) lens mount. This allows you to use Super 35mm Cinema lenses with optional adapters, which will retain their native angle of view.
When the camera is used with MFT, Super 16, and other size lenses, using JVC's proprietary Variable Scan Mapping feature will allow you to maintain the lens' native angle of view. This gives filmmakers the flexibility of using widely available MFT lenses as well as high-end cinema lenses. It is also possible to attach the camera to microscopes and other devices using a MFT/C-mount adaptor.
The GY-LS300 records Quicktime (.MOV) file format. You can connect the camcorder to a 4K Ultra HD monitor with a single HDMI cable and view the camera's live 4K signal. You can also playback recorded files directly from the camera. In addition, the GY-LS300 downconverts UHD signals to standard HD for output through the built-in SDI or HDMI connectors.
The camcorder body incorporates a filter selector wheel that features a clear, 1/4, 1/16, and 1/64 ND filter choices.
All camcorders in JVC's 4KCAM family record 4:2:2 HD signals up to 60p at 50Mbps, making them an ideal camera for general HD production work. 50Mbps files are stored in the Quicktime (.MOV) format for easy editing. Conventional AVCHD (4:2:0) recording provides wide editing compatibility in an array of standard HD and SD formats.
Equipped with a high-speed broadband modem makes the camera attractive for use in by crews that need a way to deliver a live video stream without the need for a microwave or satellite truck. Through its use of dual codecs, the camera offers live transmission (streaming) including directly to USTREAM and YouTube while simultaneously recording HD to a memory card. Transmission at selected resolutions and bitrates is possible independent of the recording mode. The camera offers a range of streaming options from basic point-to-point to cloud streaming with advanced error correction
    The camcorder features:
    • Micro Four Thirds System Lens Mount
    • Variable Scan Mapping maintains native angle of view for a variety of lenses including Super 35, MFT, and Super 16. Adapters available for PL and EF mount lenses

  • Atomos Ninja Inferno 7" 4K HDMI Recording Monitor

Able to record DCI and UHD 4K signals at up to 60 fps, the Atomos Ninja Inferno makes a great companion to cameras and camcorders that output uncompressed video over HDMI. The monitor itself features 10-bit FRC processing and AtomHDR display technology that supports a 10-stop brightness range, allowing you to more accurately monitor your log gamma footage without having to view flat, washed-out looking images or use a LUT to compress the dynamic range and color space. The monitor offers built-in presets to accurately translate popular log formats from Sony, Canon, Panasonic, ARRI, RED, and JVC cameras. The settings only affect viewing, with recorded video remained unaltered.

In addition to HDR monitoring, the monitor also offers a High Bright mode for traditional Rec. 709 monitoring. This mode takes advantage of the full 1500 cd/m² brightness to allow for more confident monitoring in bright outdoor environments, even without a sun hood. In HDR mode, use of an included snap-on sun hood is available, as displaying a wider brightness range reduces the overall brightness of the monitor.

Incoming video signals can be recorded in a wide range of Apple ProRes and Avid DNx codecs which maintain high quality while not requiring the storage space of uncompressed video. Both ProRes and DNx are edit-friendly, requiring no conversion in post-production to ensure smooth playback and compatibility with most common video editing software. Standard 2.5" SATA III recording media is supported, with compatible SSDs able to record in all formats including 4K and high-frame-rate HD.

Note: check the Atomos website for an updated list of supported drives

Built to withstand the rigors of production, the Ninja Inferno features built-in protective armor that features silicone-covered corners and chamfered edges. Like its predecessor, the Ninja Flame, the Inferno features dual Sony L-Series battery plates that support battery hot-swapping, enabling longer run times with hot-swapping. For audio recording, the monitor supports balanced XLR inputs with 48V phantom power and XLR outputs via separately available audio breakout cables. Additional features include a variety of onscreen exposure analysis, framing, and focus assist tools. A power supply, SSD Caddy, and a travel case are included with the unit.

    AtomHDR
With AtomHDR you can monitor up to 10 stops of dynamic range of your camera's LOG image. Most conventional monitors can only display 6 or 7 stops, which is fine for standard footage, but a LOG image will look overly flat. It is also superior to monitoring with a loaded LUT, which can clip the highlights and mask shadows.
    4K 60p Capabilities
Record high-resolution 4K footage in DCI or UHD formats up to 60 fps, including 24 and 25 fps for a more film-like aesthetic. All recordings are stored as high quality Apple ProRes or Avid DNxHR files with 10-bit 4:2:2 chroma subsampling. A variety of bit-rates are available to fit your project and storage needs.
    Audio I/O
Audio can be input and output via the multi-pin locking connector. Separately available breakout cables can provide XLR audio input with 48v phantom power and output. A 3.5mm headphone jack on the side can be used for convenient audio monitoring.
    7" Daylight Viewable Screen
The Ninja Inferno's 7" LCD screen is illuminated by a bright 1500 cd/m² LED backlight, making it possible to view in daylight without requiring a hood. Plus, the screen is also color calibrated from the factory to ensure accurate image representation.
    HDR Signal Management
LOG and HDR signals can be difficult to monitor with conventional equipment. Though, with the Ninja Inferno's built-in HDR signal management functions, the LOG signal can be converted to the PQ standard for compatibility with existing consumer and professional HDR equipment.
