  • Lens construction uses nine glass elements in six groups, and each of the elements are multi-coated to resist flare and ghosting for increased contrast and color accuracy.

Lensbaby Edge 35 Reviews

Love the creativity

I had my eye on the Edge 35 for a while and was thrilled when they were back in stock. I love the Edge 35 highlights the subject with a slice of focus while the rest of the photo falls into a nice blur. I like how you can make that slice of focus bigger or smaller when changing the aperture. The slice of focus can be horizontal, vertical or diagonal depending on how you tilt the composer II body. It can also turn into a standard 35mm lens if you leave the composer II straight (no tilt). I am very happy with my purchase!

One thing is missing

This is my second Composer Pro II, I have owned one for another camera mount for some time. One of the advantages of the Composer Pro II is there are several optics available, each of which challenges creativity in a different way. My disappointment with this unit? The optic, which is designed to be modular, does not come with a rear lens cap. So next time I am in B&H I need to drop ten bucks for a plastic cover. Not a big deal, but I have never before purchased a lens or optic from any company, including Lensbaby, that did not come with a cover to protect the rear of the lens when not in use. Lensbaby, a company I have experienced nothing but quality from in the past, seems to assume the photographer will always leave the Edge 35 in the Composer Pro and never expand their creativity to include other optics from their collection. Don't misunderstand, this is a quality product with great creative possibilities, I just think protection for the optic should have been included.

Yes. Works very well. I can get a nice simple tilt shift effect with this lens. I'll see if I can post images on the web page.
