Think Tank Photo Retrospective 7 V2.0 Reviews

Small and disorganized

Received this bag as part of a bundle from B&H. Barely fits a mirrorless body and two lenses. And the only way it does that is if one of the lenses is attached to the body. Other compartments are just a jumble. Sure, there are plenty of slots and hangers and things but if you use them, the bag won't close and it feels like things might get crushed. And don't try to fit any other electronics in here (aka: a tablet or laptop).

I bought this bag as a gift. It was just as pictured and it was packaged very well. It's the perfect size and fits 2 lenses and a camera body. Awesome!

Very nice bag, as advertised

The quality, look and feel are excellent. Size is a personal choice. I was torn between the 7 and 5 sizes. I tested a 5 someone had and it was enough for my Z 5 and a second lens, flash, batteries and a few bits and pieces. I got the 7 to have more room for some days but I don't want to load it up for every day use. The weight gets annoying if you ask me. My 13 MacBook fits nicely, for example, but I wouldn't want the weight in there normally.

Good choice

Camera bags are so varied and so difficult to see in person every purchase is an act of faith. I like the soft cloth and the easily deployed rain cover in case of heavy rain and the shoulder strap really doesn't slip. There are a confusing number of compartments but if you like what you see the build quality is good. I would get this again.

Terrific Bag

This bag holds all my essential gear comfortably and safely. Construction is really top notch, and it is handsome without being flashy and attracting undue attention. Comfortable yet tough. Best camera bag that I have owned.

This bag fits my x-t3 + lenses + mavic mini + water bottle + batteries + a few other personal items without any problems. Comfortable bag to carry around as I walk around the city or even on a longer walk. Looks great as well.

Perfect for DSLR with a lens plus a Mavic Pro 2 drone system, or an additional long lens and speed light. Great ravel bag, and like the various options for closing the lid.

You can fit a mirrorless body and three lenses (e.g. EOS R6 with RF24-105 attached + RF14-35 + RF70-200f4) and a small flash, plus a 13 laptop and some random personal junk. The bag does not say steal me. Like other Think Tank products it is constructed very sturdy. Unlike many bags in this size category, you can fit a water bottle into the end pocket, or a compact tripod if that's your thing.

This bag does not have a tripod holder per se, but you can probably put it where the bottle goes on the side of the bag, assuming it is a small small tripod.

Will this bag fit my 70-200 lens in the 2nd tall sleeve
Asked by: Terrance
It depends on which 70-200mm lens it is. Most F4 ones will fit, and the F2.8 lenses would be snug but would still technically fit.

If camera+lens is slightly taller than the height ...

If camera+lens is slightly taller than the height of the bag, can it still close? I have Canon EOS RP + RF 100-400. Distance from eyepiece to front lens cap is 9.4". That's a bit more than the 8.8" interior height of the bag. I know the 10 is a better fit, but I'd prefer the smaller size of the 7 if I can loop the cover over the protruding camera body.
Asked by: David
I suggest that you always load this camera + lens horizontally, with the left end of the camera body downward (goes into bag first) and the grip end facing up/out. This is physically preferable to vertically stacking the body + lens facing down, with the entire weight of the load concentrated on the nose of the lens.
