Think Tank has just unveiled a collection of new backpacks for urban explorers and adventure photographers, as well as a new black color option for the popular Retrospective 2.0 shoulder bag. Leading off the announcement is subtle yet stylish bag designed for street photographers. Spotting the Urban Access Backpack in the wild, you would likely not assume it to be a camera bag because there are few external details that betray its function. For street shooters desiring a low-key presence or fashionable photographers who hate camera bags that look like camera bags, the Urban Access Backpack is a perfect option.
Depending on the amount of gear you plan on carrying, two options are available. The Urban Access 13 can fit an ungripped DSLR or mirrorless body with lens attached, 2-4 additional lenses, and a 13" laptop. For heavier travelers, the Urban Access 15 adds space for a 15" laptop and an additional 1-2 lenses. A customizable divider system allows you to adjust the inside of the bag based on your chosen gear for the day.
Two side-access panels and a full-access rear panel make it easy to grab gear quickly at a moment’s notice. A dedicated laptop pocket protects your computer, while its top compartment is perfect for storing personal items and accessories. Exterior water-bottle pockets can be used for storing hydration or other accessories. A tripod can be secured to the front of the bag using a dedicated attachment and deployable cup. For stability, a removable sternum strap and waist belt are included. Finally, the Urban Access’s exterior features Durable water-repellent coating with polyurethane-backed fabric to keep your gear dry. For extreme conditions, a seam-sealed cover is also included.
Accompanying this city-centric release is the adventure-focused PhotoCross Backpack as part of the MindShift Gear lineup, and it will be available in carbon gray and orange ember color options. Designed to endure your most rugged photo assignments, the Photocross incorporates weatherproof zippers, abrasion-resistant materials, and a tarpaulin bottom panel. When faced with downpour conditions, a seam-sealed rain cover is also included.
The PhotoCross is capable of protecting an ungripped DSLR or mirrorless body, 3-5 lenses, and 13" laptop. Like the Urban Access, a customizable divider system allows you to arrange the interior of the bag as needed. A zippered, extra-large side panel provides quick access to everything in the bag. Front pockets for accessories or personal items keeps them from slipping out when accessing your camera.
T-pulls attached to zippers make it easy to open or close the bag when wearing gloves in cold weather. Large top and side handles provide additional means of transport when necessary. An external side pocket can hold most 1L water bottles, so you stay hydrated on your journey. Additionally, you can carry a tripod or jacket on the outside of the PhotoCross by using dedicated straps. A removable waist belt and shoulder straps help ease carry during strenuous outings.
Accompanying the new backpacks, Think Tank has also added a black color option for the Retrospective 5, 7, 10, 20, and 30 V2.0 Shoulder Bags.
