The camera skin went on the camera easily. Definitely seems to add a layer of protection. The only downside is that some of my other accessories won’t fit on the bottom screw mount due to added thickness. That’s the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars.

The Ruggard SleekGuard Silicone Camera Skin for Sony a7R IV Series would not fit the a7R V properly: the a7R V and the a7R IV are not exactly the same dimensions.

Will the skin prohibit or restrict the use of an L-bracket like that from RRS?

The RRS L Bracket is not compatible if you want battery port access. I went as far to precision cut the skin to try and get some extra coverage for the notoriously exposed Sony buttons. With some modification you can operate with a blocked battery port. I ruined the skin just to see - this response is wrong. The l bracket must be flush to the camera and with this skin it is not.

The D850 has illuminated buttons, are these still visible if activated or does the silicon skin obscure them completely?

The buttons are covered by the skin. They are raised so that you can still feel them and though they have icons noting their functions, they would require externally generated illumination to see them.
