The camera skin went on the camera easily. Definitely seems to add a layer of protection. The only downside is that some of my other accessories won’t fit on the bottom screw mount due to added thickness. That’s the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars.

You cannot attach the battery grip when the Ruggard SleekGuard Silicone Camera Skin for Sony a7R V Series is on the Sony a7R V Mirrorless Camera. You do have access to the battery compartment to change the battery pack.

The D850 has illuminated buttons, are these still visible if activated or does the silicon skin obscure them completely?

The buttons are covered by the skin. They are raised so that you can still feel them and though they have icons noting their functions, they would require externally generated illumination to see them.
