This C-Stand with Quick Release Sliding Leg with Grip Arm from Impact features a 40" double riser for sturdy support of light fixtures and accessories weighing up to 22 lb. This black-finish sliding leg model has a movable top leg designed for leveling the stand on uneven surfaces like stairs or curbs. Impact's unique quick release leg lock simplifies opening and closing the legs for rapid deployment and breakdown. I want to purchase these C-Stands along with casters. Which size of Impact casters fit these stands?
The turtle base is not designed to accept casters and I don't think modifying it would be the best plan for reasons of stability. I have found the Kupo Runway Base Stand to be the best alternative for a wheeled base. I think it's at least as good as the Manfrotto, but it costs less than $100. It accepts the same 1 1/8 junior riser spigot as the Turtle stand base. I've not used the Mathews equivalent - I hear from colleagues that it's good, but I'd rather have three Kupos for the money and enough change left over for a slap up dinner at Mrs Muggins' Pie Shop.
