Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hate these new caps I hate these new Nikon lens caps. All they do is fall off. I contantly loose them. The old Nikon caps were great, the best ever made, have some that are 30 years old, hold on tight and almost never fell off. These are just the opposite, if they get bumped even very softly they are off the lens. I've lost some when I didn't even feel or hear the lens hit anything. The only reason I use them is there is nothing better, all the caps now are this same stupid design and pop off for no reason, these are the 'lesser of evils'. Wish Nikon offered both the old style and these, but they don't.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good lens cap I recently bought a used Nikkor 20mm 2.8D lens, which came with the old-style lens cap. The old style cap has a small area on each side to pinch, but it does not protrude much. My other lenses have the new style caps, like this one, which stay on well and are easy to remove, either by pinching the outside of the lens cap or by pinching just above and below Nikon. I find the new style easier to operate. Since all my other lenses use the new style, the new style also provides me consistency. For ease of operation, reliability, and consistency, I'm very glad I bought this lens cap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An extraordinary variable-geometry lens covering device When I learned that my new Nikon 62mm Snap-On Lens Cap was en route to my abode using the UPS tracking site, I was rigid with joyful anticipation knowing that I would soon be able to properly cover the front element of my macro lens with this inspired, variable-geometry, center pinch-grip lens cap, emblazoned with the same brand as my lens and camera with its aggressive, forward-leaning block type.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what my lens needed! I had lost the original Nikon lens cover for my 60mm Micro-Nikkor quite a while back. In a pinch, I went to a camera store and purchased a generic lens cover (it was all they had available). It was vastly inferior, sporting a poor fit that tended to pop off easily in my bag or pocket, which wasn't helped by the squeeze release buttons being placed on the outside rather than on the front. Then I found this OEM Nikon lens cap here at B&H and knew I had to have it. When it arrived, I tore open the box like it was my birthday, and promplty hunted down my 60mm Micro-Nikkor to test it out. It worked like a charm! Amazing fit, front-squeezing release buttons, and i felt immediate relief knowing that never again would my lens be endangered by random objects in my camera bag when the lens cap had randomly popped off. It's superior appearance is also a plus, knowing I'm not the subject of the judgemental gaze of other photographers when they saw the cheap aftermarket cap. This lens cap is just fantastic, I hav not regretted purchasing it for even one second. I highly recommend it if it fits your application.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a cap! I purchase this to replace the weak one that came with my Nikkor 35-70mm lens. Fits great and much more sturdy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the extra few dollars! There's not much to say about a lens cap, I've have had a Nikon lens cap that came with the kit lens on my D90 for a while now and it still works great. So I decided to buy this one for a manual lens I ordered online that didn't come with a lens cap. It fits really well, I've used some off brand ones in the past and they fit loose or end up falling off. It's worth the extra few dollars, especially if you're protecting an expensive lens!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality and Compact You get what you pay for in lens caps. I have tried generic lens caps as replacements and find that they are not as compact and fall off with much greater frequency. The Nikon caps have the release tabs recessed so that they are not easily bumprd or brushed into disengaging. I am of the opinion that the internal grips make more secure contact with the threads on the inside of the lens barrel than the generic caps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a lens cap It's a lens cap. How excited can one get. I'm really great at losing lens caps so I should buy in bulk. I've started putting bright tape or paint on my caps so I can find them in the woods when I have to go back for them (and occasionally find in my pocket when I retrace to where I think I lost it). Caps do stay on tight if properly affixed.
