The 82mm Soft-Edge Graduated ND Filter from Tiffen is a graduated neutral density filter that helps to specifically darken skies and other bright areas of the image. The filter is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a feathered line between the density and clear areas. The thickness of the glass has nothing to do with vignetting. Vignetting can be caused by the thickness of a filter ring or if you stack filters and shoot at wide angle. The factors that would determine of you will get vignetting also include what focal length you are shooting at and if your camera sensor is full frame or cropped sensor. It is possible that this filter ring could vignette if you are shooting super wide angle on a full frame sensor, otherwise it should not be an issue.
