The Tiffen 52mm Graduated 0.6 ND Digital HT Filter is a graduated neutral density filter that helps to specifically darken skies and other bright areas of the image. The filter is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a feathered line between the density and clear areas. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and the 0.6 density provides a 2 stop reduction in light from entering the lens. This filter also features a rotating filter ring for flexibility when placing the density over specific areas of the scene.

The Digital HT coating is a high transmission multi-coating that surpasses military specifications for hardness and durability. This optical purity combined with high scratch-resistance results in an easy-to-clean filter with superb imaging quality. They also feature low-profile titanium filter rings for increased strength and vignetting reduction.

0.6 ND graduated filter for darkening skies and other bright areas of the image.
Feathered edge is neither soft nor hard, providing a natural-appearing taper between the density and clear areas of the filter.
Neutral density filters do not affect the overall coloration of the image.
Rotating filter ring allows more control over placement of density in the image.
Digital HT multi-coating provides increased strength, durability, and optical clarity for greater light transmission and protection against scratches.
Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology; a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting to precision metal rings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Addition to the Arsenal! I love dabbling in landscape photography, living out here in Montana, but the sky was always really dull in comparison and it's horribly frustrating. I finally bunkered down and got this filter, and I haven't looked back. I can finally get the clarity in the clouds that I want while not having to underexpose the mountains. This is a great little tool to carry around on just about any expedition -- you never know when it will come in handy, and for what! The threads on this seem different than other filters I've used, which makes it difficult to get on at first, but once it is on, it stays put and doesn't budge. Very solidly built.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Product Well built, no problems. I guess the issue was my fault -- perhaps I was expecting more darkening from 2 stops. So, my personal reaction was the effect of this filter was less dramatic than I expected. So, the good news is that if you fear this is too much -- it's not -- it's subtle. In fact, I ended up using this along with a variable ND. But -- it does work, is well built, and after pixel peeping stills and video to death I could not find any negative effects of using this filter. It was a toss up between four and five stars. It could be either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I purchased this filter after extensive research. Tiffen HT is made out of the best quality multi-coated glass. I was surprised that most grad ND filters are plastic or regular glass. The first one I received had some spots on the coating noticeable only when you look at it at the right angle and when I tried to clean them they become worse. The spots were like an oil spill over water but they did not show on the photos. I am not sure if the coating of the product was defective or I did not know how to clean the filter. I called Tiffen and they immediately offered me to exchange it...The second filter arrived in a couple of days, it was spot-free and so far I am happy with the results. This filter is great for shooting sunrises of sunsets over the ocean or over the land when the horizon is a straight line. I find the turning of the filter during mounting a bit difficult because the outer ring of the filter is designed to turn and the tread is on the inner ring, but I guess you could get used to it as you practice more. This is a great filter and it is worth the premium price because without it is impossible to get the same results.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why its a waste of money This product is a waste of money because for an extra $$ you can get the Cokin set which gives you 3 filters. This product has nearly no threading, which means that you will have one heck of a time getting this to screw onto your front element. Even for one time use I would have to recommend staying away from this filter.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality This product is described by Tiffen as state of the art ... made for the discerning professional ... I shot some pictures of light fixtures in my house to practice using this filter and every single picture had a green ghost in it the size of the light fixture. A very poor quality product that had to be returned to B&H
