Can it securely attach to a 2x6 beam?
Asked by: Kevin
The Manfrotto 035RL Super Clamp with Standard Stud can attach to a 2x6 beam, but one should use a safety cable like the Impact Safety Cable (18"), B&H # IMSC1.518 (https://bhpho.to/3Yg3t0L).

Can you attach this directly to a tripod head?
Asked by: Carole Ann
if you purchase the Impact Short Double Female Stud for Super Clamps with 1/4"-20 & 3/8"-16 Threads, B&H # IMSRP103, you should be able to connect the Manfrotto 035RL Super Clamp with Standard Stud to the 1/4"-20 or 3/8"-16 male thread on the top of your tripod head.

This evidently is not a true ratchet like a socket wrench ratchet. But does it have the ability to have the handle pulled out, re-positioned, and then back in to a tightening mode?
Asked by: John
no you will need enough clearance for the handle to turn about a 6in circle.

question

Is this the correct stud to attach a standard tripod head (such as the 494RC2)? If not what stud should I order please?
Asked by: Anonymous
The stud included with this Super Clamp would not have the correct screw thread to fit a 494 RC2. What is best to use is the Manfrotto 208HEX Head Mounting Plate with Hex Stud - 3/8 Thread B&H # MA208HEX which connects into the hex slot on the Super Clamp and has a tripod base plate on top with a 3/8 thread for attaching a head like the 494RC2. Please see the image below for reference.

What length are the M5 machine screws that allow you to connect two super clamps together?
Asked by: Joseph
The machine screws would typically be about 12–16mm depending on whether you're using washers or spacers. It may be best to take the clamps to a hardware store to find exactly what you need.

question

is the main handle on this made out of metal or plastic, along with the interior threads? I've had versions that were plastic and the threads strip out rendering the clamp useless.
Asked by: Paul
The handle is plastic. Hardened plastic, the interior threads are not plastic.

Hi, do the letters RL mean that the clamp has a ratchet handle?
Asked by: Alexei
Manfrotto has 4 versions of the Super Clamp with the Ratchet handle. The only differences are if the stud is included or not, & what particular stud. This 035RL Super Clamp includes a Standard Stud.
