Hoya A-67CRPLHRT overview

  • 1Description

The Hoya 67mm HRT Circular-Polarizer UV Filter is designed to block ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight while also helping to eliminate reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. The light from the sun naturally becomes partially polarized due to reflecting off electrons in air molecules, causing the light to scatter into what appears as haze. A filter with polarizing capability arranges, and filters, this directionally polarized light perpendicularly to the reflected light, allowing for the absorption of much of this light. This results in a noticeable reduction of glare and reflections from non-metallic surfaces and an increase in the saturation of skies and foliage.

A circular polarizer only differs from a linear polarizer in that it contains a quarter wave plane in addition to the linear polarizing filter. The addition of this quarter wave plane is to circularly polarize the linearly polarized light for the use of auto focus and exposure functions. Due to how the light is broken down and filtered with a linear polarizer, auto focus and exposure accuracy become skewed during use. When the light becomes circularly polarized, it permits the use of these functions.

This filter is non-coated and offers approximately 98% average light transmission due to its High-Rate Transparency polarizing film. It is constructed from optical glass and precision milled aluminum frames.

Blocks UV light and reduces bluish cast of daylight.
Helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface.
Polarizing filters arrange, and filter, directionally polarized light perpendicularly to the reflected light, allowing for the absorption of much of the light.
Clears up haze in distant landscapes and provides more saturated, vivid colors.
Strongest effect when used at a 90° angle from the sun.
Circular polarizers are ideal for use with digital cameras and autofocus lenses where a linear polarizer will often disrupt auto exposure and focus features.
Non-coated.
High-Rate Transparency polarizing film helps provide approximately 98% average light transmission.
2.5 to 2.8x filter factor reduces exposure by 1.3 to 1.5 stops.
Constructed from optical glass and precision milled aluminum frames.
Plastic filter case for storage and transport.

    Hoya A-67CRPLHRT reviews

67mm HRT Circular-Polarizer UV Filter is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value I do a lot of outdoor photography with weddings and senior pictures so keeping the sky blue and glasses glaring down is a must. I have not tried it with glasses yet buti have noticed a big difference in the sky. When photographing outside with the polarizing lens, the blue sky stays without overexposure. I love that this product has the decreased f-stop value to it so if I am working indoors, I can get rid of glasses glare and still work under some lower lighting conditions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Filter I use this with a Tamron 17-50 and a Pentax K-7. The HRT technology really makes a difference--I'm able to take photos in waning light that are impossible with my other circular polarizers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Value Landscapes and occasions where light reflection (glare)is an issue. I am using this on a 100MM 2.8L Cannon lens so better light tranmission is a plus.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Polarizing Filter This filter does its job, and does it well. It reduces the reflections and haze and make my outdoor pictures sharper. Colors look richer and more saturating. My landscape photography looks much cleaner and crisp. Its perfect for really bright days when you want a long exposure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally got it! I put off getting this for my 70-200 f4. IS and was content with using a 77 mm CP with my 10-22 and 17-55 lenses. I've had several opportunities to use a CP on the long lens & am glad I finally picked one up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great filter Solid construction with great optics. Threads easily and has a fluid rotation ring. Fantastic service from B&H. I would recommend this product to a friend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well, good price Polarizer works well, without noticable image degradation. The rim is a little thick, so vignetting may be a concern. Price was good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent filter I was impressed by the filter that significantly changed the result of the photos under the sun. The price is reasonable.
