Sensei SDR-5552 Reviews
Smooth operating ring
Great little ring, beautifully coated, very smooth to screw on and off.
Good Step-Down Ring but with a little vignetting
I have 52 mm filters and wanted to try them on a Sony A6400 with 18-135 mm lens. The 18-135 mm lens is with 55 mm filter size. This 55-52 step-down ring gets the job done. Here's what I found out: - At 18 mm, after applying lens profile and applying maximum amount of vignetting correction, the corners are still dark, but not a lot (See uploaded pic) - At 19 mm, after applying lens profile and applying maximum amount of vignetting correction, I could barely notice the dark corners - At 24 mm, after applying lens profile and applying maximum amount of vignetting correction, the dark corners are completed corrected - Pretty much at any focal length longer than 24 mm, vignetting will not be an issue A decent 55 mm 6-stop ND will cost me about $60 to $100. This ring can let me use my 52 mm filters on most of the focal length. So for me it's a good investment compared to buying another set of 55 mm filters.
Great to have
Love having the ability to utilize my expensive filters bought for a Zeiss lens, now working fine on my 55mm filter size Sony 50 mm macro.
What it says on the box
It's metal, pretty sturdy, screws in no problem. I took it with me on a trip to see a friend and it went fine. Only problem is more of a me-problem: I forgot I needed a smaller lens cap but I just looped it over a finger while I put my camera back in my bag.
Just what I needed. Now I can use old 52mm filters on dslr.
I have closeup adaptor, but won't fit my camera lens. this adaptor helps to use my closeup lens.
