Celestron engineered their Luminos 10mm Eyepiece to provide you with a comfortable 82° field of view, and made the entire series parfocal, allowing you to change it out with other Luminos eyepieces without having to adjust the focus. This allows you to spend more time viewing while reducing the chance of hitting the scope out of alignment. This model features a 7-element lens configuration and is fully multi-coated to improve image brightness and contrast. Its 1.25" diameter barrel fits the same size drawtube or accessories, and has machined filter threads to accept eyepiece filters. Made of a lightweight and durable aluminum alloy with an anodized finish, the body has a slip-resistant rubber collar, and an innovative retractable eyecup that pops up when you need it and drops down when you don't with a simple twist.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Eyepiece, but not for me This is a very good eyepiece if you have a larger telescope at f/6 or higher with a sturdy mount and a 2 diagonal that can handle it. It's very well made and impressive on first seeing it. The twist up eyecup is very smooth to operate and the After daytime terrestrial viewing and nighttime astronomical viewing of good seeing the image at center was clear. The 82 field of view was very nice but focus was lost closer to the edge. After reading conflicting reviews regarding views of Jupiter and Saturn, I could see what both sides were stating. Jupiter and Saturn have slight ghosting, but I only really noticed it on the outer 50% of the extremely wide 82 field of view. The center was very nice and clear. It was very bulky for my NexStar 5SE 1.25 diagonal and the thumb screws were catching the outer edge of the eyepiece instead of the receiving tube. I could have switched the thumb screws on my diagonal with the visual back screws to compensate (since the threads are the same and the thumb knobs on the visual back are more narrow) or, as Celestron Customer Service suggested, I could have purchased a 2 diagonal with a 1.25 adapter to better accommodate the larger, heavier eyepiece. If I had more Luminos eyepieces, I would have kept this 10mm since the series is parfocal. But knowing that there are alternatives that cost less with virtually the same performance, I decided to return this eyepiece. Sorry, Celestron. This is a good eyepiece, it just didn't work for me at this time. But I would recommend it to someone if they had the appropriate equipment to support it.
