    Watson C-4228 reviews

Compact AC/DC Charger for NP-FW50 Battery is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 205.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from I Like Watson Chargers, But Not This One I have a number of Watson chargers and batteries and have always been pleased at the quality and value. This one is a disappointment. First time I used it the light was green even though the battery hadn't charged. I had to wiggle and wrestle with the battery to get the green light to turn red. The battery plate is much wider than the battery so you have to be careful as you put it in so as not to damage the contacts. The little plastic tab that holds the battery in place looks like it could easily break, even with normal use. The battery plate slipping off the base when you remove the battery is common with many 3rd party chargers, but this one practically falls off just from the weight of the battery. Spend another 5 bucks and get BM premium. Comes with two 1500ma batteries.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice setup. It is what it is, a charger. Nice that it comes with 12vdc car adapter also. Battery fits well, just pay attention the first few times you use it. It's not the greatest battery alignment system but it works well once you charged a couple batteries and get the feel for it. The adapter plate is removable from the charger base. Maybe you can find other plates to fit different batteries types (mixed camera users) and not need to pack/manage two charging systems. Over-all it's a no brainer for NEX users that have the models with built-in chargers. Can even use it to charge you usb type phone while in the car.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product. Echoing others' experiences, suggestions, etc., properly seating battery in charger is key; otherwise, initial charging light will remain green & battery will not charge. (Almost returned product, thinking it was defective. It was/is in good working order.) Properly seating involves applying slight downward pressure at battery terminals, with side-to-side wiggling. Once battery terminal slots (5) cannot be seen through this gentle action, battery is seated, and ready for charging. (Of course, battery base must also be seated/flush with charger.) Once plugged in, charging light will be red. For a depleted battery, full (100%) charge can take up to 150 minutes. Green light signals completion.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Was a little stiff to use At first I was unsuccessful using this product. I thought everything was correct but hours went by and no charge. I tried to mount battery again and had trouble with two things: 1. there is a little tab of plastic near the bottom of the face of the charger that would get in the way of full engagement, and 2. the engagement was a little stiff which left you with the impression that you were going to bend the leads ( the female part that engages the charger ) . My solution was to 1. bend the plastic tab down a bit, and 2. push the battery in anyhow and trust that I would not damage the battery. I was successful in the end and so far have not seen any problems with the battery working or being fully charged.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a Great, Versatile Charger I wish I had purchased this charger years ago! For about $ (pretty typical for such devices) it comes complete with a mobile, home & European adapter. In short it may be used almost everywhere. An extra bonus of this brand is that Watson sells adapter plates ($ea at B&H) which allow you to use it to charge MANY other cameras. As a result, if one travels or hikes with multiple cameras, you can bring only ONE charger and a few light-weight adapter plates, instead of multiple chargers. Ingenious! Several people told me that Watson chargers are very reliable too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These batteries and chargers are great. This charger is wonderful because it is AC/DC, and that allows me to charge in my car if need. This particular charger is for my Sony which uses up batteries quickly. I also have one for my Canon's and both chargers work great. Very fast.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Watson Charger for NP-FW50 Battery Great design, efficient all in one, 110V/220V with US and Euro outlet prones plus a 12V car charger extension cord. Unit also has a USB port however cannot be used interchangeably when charging the battery. Overall a very smart design

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for the price I got this and extra batteries for my A7rii. The Watson charges a little quicker than the Sony that came with the camera. Four stars because I can see the plastic post which holds the battery in place being a design weak spot.
