Compact AC/DC Charger for NP-BX1 Battery is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 58.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very handy charger, confusing LEDs It's a battery charger; it charges the battery so that's good. However, the LEDs are somewhat confusing; knowing whether your battery is charging, done charging, or not charging (because, say, you put it in incorrectly) should be obvious but the LED colors felt backward to me. For instance, the green light comes on if you plug in the charger WITHOUT a battery in it. The USB port is great; when I went on vacation it meant that I had one fewer little electronic component to bring in order to keep all my gadgets charged. I haven't tried the interchangeable plates but love the idea of not having to buy an entirely new charger if I get a new camera or other device with removable, rechargeable batteries.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works, but doesn't show charg progress I bought this as a travel charger for the NP-BX1 batteries used by my RX-100M3 camera. I also bought the adapter plate for NP-FW50 batteries used by my A6000 camera. That way, I can take one charger on trips where I take both cameras -- i.e., it's a space saver. The Watson charger works fine for both battery types. I haven't compared charge time to the stock Sony chargers for these batteries, which I also have, but I think it's comparable and more a function of the batteries themselves. The Watson charger height and width are about the same as the stock Sony charger for NP-BX1 batteries, but the depth is about a half-inch smaller, making the Watson unit a bit less bulky for travel. So it will travel with me when I take the RX-100M3 by itself or when I take both cameras. But the Watson charger height is about 3/4 larger than the stock Sony charger for NP-FW50 batteries, so I would take the stock charger when I'm only carrying the A6000. I have two beefs with the Watson charger: 1. The charger pin layout is backwards from the contact layout for stock Sony NP-BX1 batteries, so you have to be careful to insert Sony batteries upside down. The contact layout of Watson NP-BX1 batteries, on the other hand, matches the charger, so they go in right-side up. Very confusing. 2. There's only one LED charge indicator light and it has only two states: charging and charged. The stock Sony chargers have a separate charge LED and three progress indicator LEDs showing how much charge is in the battery (all the lights go out when the battery is charged.) I guess fewer LEDs is why the Watson charger is so much cheaper, but it would be nice to have the progress indicators.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Sony RX100s Instead of having to charge my battery in-camera, now I can charge it in this charger on my desktop, while a second battery is in my camera ready to go. It was a real pain before, as I had to plug the camera in and swap batteries also anyway to keep them up. The USB port is a bonus for charging my Blackberry! Thanks, Rick

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect size, price and quality Ideal for the back battery charger. Now I alway have the extra charged and ready to go. No cords, just flip open the plug and insert the battery. 90 mins. later it's ready.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Charger Good external charger. Charges my sony battery in about 3 hours. Works very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great to be able to charge battery Cameras do not come with separate chargers anymore except the Canon point and shoot. Canon still ships some of their models with a compact charger. Sony does not. They want you to charge the battery while in the camera. So, you cannot use the camera while it is charging a battery. This is why this charger comes in handy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works fine. Works as advertised but it is not designed like some others that are murphy proof for battery insertion. In this model you can put the battery in upside down and the only indication you get is the green light is on. If you don't notice you might think you are charging or is fully charged but it is not really charging. Some other brands of this type of charger have keys that keep you from installing the battery upside down.
