The Speed Ring for Profoto from Impact features indexed flex rod holes that allow you to effortlessly mount any square, rectangular, strip, or octagonal Luxbanx softbox to Profoto Pro, Pro-B, Acute, Acute-B, ComPact, B1, B2, D1 and D2 flash heads. The ring will also fit most other brands of softbox. The sturdy all-metal ring rotates 360 degrees to facilitate orientation or to clear obstacles in tight quarters. It has 3/8"-16 taps on two sides to allow mounting directly to grip gear such as Impact's Swivel Umbrella Adapter, 3 Section Double Articulated Arm, Super Clamp, and more.

Does this product then work with profoto octa soft boxes/modifiers like the profoto rfi speedring or only impact modifiers?

I use this with a pre RFi Softbox. I have no issue, nor can I tell a difference between this and the Pre RFi Speedring. I have it on a 3x4 Profoto RF Softbox. The only difference I can see is the Profoto Speed ring for that era says insert or R I on the hole inserts. This one says A/B, or A, or B. Maybe I've been lucky, but no damaged rods or Softbox.

Does the inner part that attaches to the Profoto ...

Does the inner part that attaches to the Profoto light come off? If so, what are the outer dimensions (across the hole) between the outer edge of the flanges? Reason I ask, I have many PCB softboxes and its proving difficult to find a Profoto adapter. But looking at this, the inner mount with flanges appears like it would fit on the PCB softbox, if its roughly 136mm width.

The adapter is designed to work with a specific unit and its exact measurements are not published. However we do know people have tried it with the PCBuff softboxes and it does not work.
