ZEISS 2003-603 overview

  • 1Description

The 49mm Carl ZEISS T* UV Filter from ZEISS is a general use, clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. No additional coloration or contrast effects are provided, rendering a clean and natural appearance.

A UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

The T* anti-reflective coating helps to reduce reflections on the filter's surface and promote a better light transmission for high quality imagery. The filter ring is designed with a slim profile to allow its use on wide angle lenses, but front filter threads are still available for the use of additional filters.

49mm Carl ZEISS T* UV Filter is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfection What to expect of Zeiss. Image is apsolutley the same as without filter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality and Protection Must-Have! What can I say? This is a UV filter to protect a lens (in my case, a Zeiss lens) from getting scratched, but not all filters are created equal. This lens has the legendary Zeiss quality, with patented and renowned T* coating, and helps prevent ghosting during night photography. You get protection and quality out of this little filter. I have one of these on my 55mm, 35mm, and 28mm lenses.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Highly reviewed by phoblographer website V highly reviewed as sharp (check phoblographer website of his Zeiss T* lens filter test), but impossible to clean. Compared to BW mrc coating on their filters, Zeiss is nearly impossible to clean 100% even with a Zeiss lens cleaning kit. The smudges and residue that are difficult to remove effect my pictures much more than a different filters inferior resolution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Pairing for New FE Mount Glass Perfect for use with the new FE Mount Sony/Carl Zeiss 35/2.8 and 55/1.8 lenses. The filter fits perfectly underneath the quirky shaped lens hood on the new 35/2.8. If you have the new Sony a7/a7r these are a must have if you use the Sony/Carl Zeiss glass.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from CRYSTAL CLEAR This filter is crystal clear, I use it on a Zeiss 55 f/1.8 sony FE mount lens. There is no blur from it, no distortion, no nothing. Does what a UV filter should. Although it is a tad expensive, it's worth it if you pair it with a slick lens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from quality filter to match quality lens The best way to protect quality lenses is to use a really good quality UV filter. It's more expensive than basic UV filters, but cheaper than replacing a favorite lens. It doesn't seem to have any noticable adverse affect on image quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Its all about the match up. I use this filter on two Sony FE lens. The 35 and the 55mm. Both fit very well and cause no problems with the hoods. I noticed some change in image quality using a less expensive filter but NOT with these...its like its not attached.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best I've ever had :) I've purchased cheap UV filters before just for 'protection' but they always end up adding lens flare or just lower the quality crispness of my photos. Now I only use these Zeiss T* UV filters and I never have any such issues.
