I have two Sigma Canon EF mount lenses and two Sigma L mount lenses. I also have the MC-21 adapter for EF to L mount. The UBS dock I have is for L mount and it updates the firmware for the MC-21 adapter and the two l mount lenses. If I attach the Sigma Canon EF lenses to the MC-21 adapter, will the L mount USB dock be able to update the firmware on those EF lenses or do I have to have both docks?
Unfortunately, you would need the specific dock for the Canon EF mount.

Unfortunately the 105mm macro is not "Global Vision" lens so it would not be compatible with the dock.

As far as I know, yes. It's the only way to connect the lens to a computer. I've used it a few times, and it was very easy to do.
