  • 1Description

The Revo VRS-AVR Wired Remote Control for Sony Camcorders with A/V Remote Terminal allows you to control zoom, start/stop recording, take photos, and power on/off compatible Sony camcorders from up to 5' away. It connects via an A/V Remote connector and features an integrated clip for attaching to your tripod's pan handle for quick and convenient access while shooting. The VRS-AVR is compact, lightweight, and easily stores in your camera bag (sold separately).

Four-Button Remote Control
The wired remote lets you start and stop video, snap photos, zoom in and out, and turn your camcorder on and off.
Two-Step Zoom
When used with camcorders that support the function, the VRS-AVR can control zoom at two speeds. Press the zoom button halfway to zoom slowly, and press it down all the way for fast zooms.
A/V Remote Connector
The VRS-AVR offers compatibility with most Sony camcorders that have an A/V Remote terminal.
Built-In Clip
The built-in clip attaches the remote to you tripod's pan handle. The oversized design provides extra leverage when opening the clip, and interior nonslip rubber pads keeps the remote securely in place.
Power and Recording Indicator LEDs
Separate LEDS indicate when your camcorder is turned on and recording. The power LED glows green when your camcorder turns on, and the recording LED glows red when shooting video.
No Batteries Required
The VRS-AVR is powered by your camcorder, without the need for separate batteries.

VRS-AVR Wired Remote Control for Sony Camcorders with A/V Remote Terminal is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't Judge a book by its cover,I would buy this product I use the sony original remote for my two sony Camcorders and I've lost one of them. I search online but found out that sony is no longer making it. I found one on @ but it is so expensive, until one day when we went to Band H in New York. I learned that Revo is making the same remote for cheap, I did not hesitate buying one because it is so cheap. Right away I try it in my camcorder using it during our church service and found no problem at all. I'm definitely impress with it. all the buttons can be used just like the original including the zoom and wide control. holding the zoom and wide button halfway will zoom or wide slowly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Design Feedback This is a great price alternative to the OEM Sony Remote, however like the OEM Device (RM-AV2), the record button is on the lower part of the device. I can tell you from much experience, there needs to be a flip cover or, re-design so the record button is on the top of the devices. When you using the Tele-Wide button, often times your thumb/finger will brush across the Rec.Button and cause the recording to stop. The picture button would be far better off placed at the bottom, as it has a two-step process... A slight depress initiates the camera to focus, A firm depression will take the picture.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does What it Should It works. Cord is a bit thin and short. I am using it on a Sony PJ790V camcorder by using a Sony VMC-AVM1 adapter. A little frustrating to have to do it that way. I wish a third party would come out with a direct connection via the micro USB multi plug for these camcorders. Anyway, it's possible after some searching to find micro usb extension cords to extend the reach if needed. Alternatively you could get a second adapter from the Sony D plug end of the VMC-AVM1 to LANC, I suppose. Frustrating that Sony does not have a decent wired remote that I could find, and the wireless system integrated in the PJ790 runs only on iPhones and Android, both of which I do not have, and do not want... But this is the kind of thing Sony is always doing, and I am glad that Revo is providing some kind of option for us.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like a charm I bought this to use with my Sony TD20 3d camcorder. I record nature close-ups with the camera on a tripd. I do not want to touch and shake the camera and the remote that comes with the camera does not work well when I point it from the back of the camera (the IR sensor is in the front and it is covered by a close-up filter). This little device works like a charm! Zooming is very smooth. Zero vibrations. Wonderful!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Go for this too Yes, I bought one of these as well and it too is a nice little unit and, so far, works well. A couple of things to be aware of. The power on/of switch on the side of he unit will not work for all cameras. The camera I use this one on is a Sony NEX-VG30 and it too has a slide switch for power on/off so again, nothing will power the unit on or off unless it actually slides that switch. and the same issue little 'issue' with this one (which shouldn't surprise as they are basically the same unit, only the connector is different) you will need to be mindful of, especially if you have large fingers, is the proximity of the video start / stop button to the zoom in button. If you are not VERY careful you will find yourself turning off video capture when in fact you want to zoom in. This is a design 'feature (I won't be as strong as to say a fault) you have to remember. Other than that one little matter, appears to be a well built unit and very worth the money spent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Essential tool for Sony camcorders HDR-XR500 and HDR-XR550 At this low price, everybody should own this remote as it allow us to avoid recording noises originated from finger manipulation of the zoom and else. I didn't find the information before buying but works well with models HDR-XR500 and HDR-XR550.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works perfectly! I am using this with my Sony TD20 3d camcorder. The zoom is smooth and pressure sensitive. I am able to record macro 3d video without any camera shaking. Does exactly what I want and the price was very reasonable too.
