Hoodman HoodEYE Glasses Model Reviews
Too small. Bad design.
The Sony viewfinder is rectangular and 19mm wide. The Hoodman mount is circular and 17mm wide. It is 11% smaller than the native eyecup. It blocks the sides of the EVF. Terrible design. How did they not test this before final production? Returning
MUST HAVE
I have used this particular product since I bought my A77II when I was wearing glasses. Not wearing glasses anymore but still use this model on all my Sony FF Bodies to completely block stray light entering the EVF. Quality durable product at a reasonable price.
Works pretty much as advertised.
The viewing opening could be a bit larger to assure no vignetting of the view, but it is workable and shades light from interfering with one's ability to see the image, which is the key thing.
helpful

Bigger isn't always better.
I got this because it was cheaper and bigger than alternatives. The downside is that it really blocks a good chunk of the EVF screen. you can't really see all of it at once. Disappointing.
Works well with or without glasses
Works well with or without glasses. Comfortable on the eye. Also allows screen to come out and angle up or down on my Sony a9. very happy with it so far.
Excellent eyepiece hood.
Excellent eyepiece hood. Does what it is supposed to be doing.
OK, but rotates too easily
The eyecup is designed to rotate, which makes sense for shooting with right or left eye and shifting between landscape and portrait orientations, but it would be better if it had detents that hold it in place until you want to rotate it. Consequently, I only use it when lighting conditions demand it. Otherwise, I just use the stock eyepiece.
