I got these to replace the pinch caps I have since they seem to only need a little nudge to fall off. A good fit so far.

Will this replace the ZEISS Objective Cap for 85mm Victory DiaScope Spotting Scope?
Asked by: David G
I measured the inside dimension, inside the lip. It was 4 1/4 inches across. So if the outside diameter dimension of your scope is 4 1/4 inches it should fit on perfectly.

what type of plastic is made of? Is it more like rubber or hard plastic?
Asked by: jason
The other answers here are spot on. It feels almost like it has the toughness of nylon and just enough flex. As soon as I put it on my Tiffen variable ND filter I felt a sense of security about run and gunning leaving the filter attached to the lens.

Anyone test these on SLR Magic Microprime Cine's?

Anyone test these on SLR Magic Microprime Cine's?
Asked by: Jeremiah
No, the Schneider 85mm Push-On Lens Cap has not been tested on the SLR Magic MicroPrime Cine lens. Also, as the SLR Magic MicroPrime Cine lens has a front diameter of 85mm, an 85mm push-on lens cap would not work with the lens. For a push-on lens cap to work, it would have to be slightly larger than the diameter of the lens on which it is to be used. The closest option in our inventory that may work would be the Schneider 86mm Push-On Lens Cap (B&H # SCLC85), though a lens cap that fits the filter threads such as the Sensei 82mm Center Pinch Snap-On Lens Cap, B&H # SELC82, may be a more accurately-fitting option.

question

Anyone willing to take a guess as to whether this would stay on a Canon fd 300mm f4, which originally came with an 84mm push-on metal cap? Thanks in advance.
Asked by: Thomas
Hi Tom, I have been using it on my 85 mm wide angle, it definitely stays on just a bit of a pain to get off with lens hood. Glen

question

what is the inside diameter?
Asked by: Anonymous
It will be a few thousandth of an inch under 85 mm. That provides slip on at low effort with grip strength from the resilience of the plastic material snug on the outside of the lens barrel. Dimension based on outer diameter of barrel not filter thread size.
