I have a tamron 75-300 that is meant to fit a canon ef, will this adapter work? I have the adapter and it seems that it wont fit in.

I got this adapter for my Fuji XT20 and a Canon 50mm EF lens and I can not get the lens to focus at all. I have the shoot without lens setting activated, and am trying to focus manually and it is not working. What am I doing wrong?
Depending on the lens, some have a drive by wire system so even in manual focus they wont work with this adapter, the older 50mm EF lenses are the opposite and these would work.

I bought this adapter to use with a 50mm EF canon ...
I bought this adapter to use with a 50mm EF canon lens on my fuji xt20 and it seems I can't get it to focus manually at all. I can take pictures as I have the shoot without lens setting activated but there is no control over focus. Why would Vello make this product if the focus for canon EF lenses is by wire only and this adapter is unable to connect electronically with any camera???
This is compatible and will allow that lens to manual focus, be sure to enable shoot without lens, make sure on the camera body it is set to M focus, and be sure the lens is set to MF as well.

How do you stop down the aperture? Or do you just have to use all EF lenses wide open?
